I mean if you don't have any ability you end up with Retooled, so it's best for all concerned if that is avoided.

We 0% approve of stuff like this and would prefer the mod left as it's own entity for the pure reasoning we're happy with it. Adding any other work may not be to the same standards we set ourselves.
That said, at the end of the day, we can't stop you doing anything. We've always adopted the viewpoint above and would kindly suggest you don't call it an Ultimate Remix. In our view, the original is the ultimate. :)
I’m sure Gabriel would also not approve of the DSL mod. It feels very hypocritical to me to be so protective and opposed to the alteration of your mod. It certainly goes against the spirit of the GTM modding community as a whole.
Although I do not think this was IceCreamRulez' intention, it does come across as a "Let me make a better version of your mod.", which the RWRA2 guys have every right to refuse. But ICR at least went the right way about things and asked for permission from the mod creators. If they don't want their mod chopped and changed and released by someone else, it's their right to make that decision. That doesn't go against the spirit of the GTM Modding community. Releasing someone else's work without their permission just to bait them into a reaction certainly does, but what sort of GREEDY, MALICIOUS BASTARD would do that? :really_makes_you_think:

It honestly looks like one of the Soviet Blimps from Red Alert 2.

It's amazing though, not to brush over that fact.

Thank you to everybody who voted and allowed Bone Dragon to win BOTM. Here's some shots for the rest of the bot, which could have been bigger if it were not for the maxsphere.

Head - the top jaw articulates, and is so heavy that it can close but not reopen. 11/10 would redo. Flamethrowers hidden behind the back of the mouth and in the nose.

Arms - The hands were planned to be more elaborate, but I immediately liked the look of the axeheads, so stuck with those.

Ribcage and Wings - Flap.

Joint motors (betas for the shoulder joints, and largest VDMAs for the elbows, wings and top jaw. 7 burst OP. Would redo the chassis if I ever made something similar.

'Staredown' pose for the splash.

FEUER. Attack the heart for massive damage.

Don't know why MNB approved any entries other than 1, 2, or 4, but it's nice to see some good submissions this month.
Also a few splashes with no weights so it's most people that are in the wrong. :dumb)

This is what happens when your challenge is delayed and you have time to kill. Wish it was as combat effective as the paintjob is elaborate. :dumb) Speaking of:

Most fun i've had painting anything.

Challenge Board / Re: RA2 CHALLENGE THREAD - DISCUSSIONS
« on: October 01, 2017, 03:12:38 PM »
I'm going to try and talk sense, or at least make some sensible suggestions here. Trying to collect together the good bits from this, so little of this may be a new idea, but one thats gotten lost in the mix here.

Challenge title:

- There is 1 Challenge Title. There is a rank associated with it, or even recycle the GTMCS champion rank for the month's champion.
- There are 4 metas (Stock, DSL-S, IF and Retooled), and 4 weightclasses (LW, MW, HW, SHW). No meta or weightclass can be repeated for consecutive months.
- The champion suggests a meta to Dragonfire, if it meets the above criteria, then it's announced at the beginning of the month. Dragonfire is also responsible for recording who is eligible for the Title throughout the month.
- Single-elimination bracket featuring whoever is eligible. KO or score wins, usual havok rules apply. Byes used in case of odd numbers. Winner meets the current champion in the final.
- There is a main fight host, and a backup host for recording the fights. 1 video to cover the whole tournament to prevent things dragging on into the next month and causing delays.
- The GTM Awards include awards for most challenge wins, most title fights, etc. Trying to build up stats and get records going.

IRL:

- IRL is not included for the title until at least it is defined what IRL-style is in context of challenge fights. I.e Use of Rule of 7 break, use of Component Freedom and Component Hermaphrodism, use of hinged wedges, limits on the amount of bursts for weapons, and any other contentious issues.
- IRL challenges are allowed to trial these guidelines. If after a trial period the guidelines are seen as successful, IRL can be added to the rotation of metas. If not then it remains challenge-only and the guidelines tweaked further.
- People can use IRL bots in DSL-S challenges as long as they meet DSL-S rules. Will probably be a bad idea to do so but if the bot meets the rules there's no reason to not accept it.
