Agh but what about these guys

Hmmm... interesting point.  Especially since there is obvious success against R4 there.  Now my head hurts.

Out of curiosity what is the collison mesh like on your problem-bot?  It looks like the ramplates are angled downward enough to possibly effect the wedge in comparison to your other bots.

strangely enough, my wedgiest HW (gets under both Hot Wheels and Nuclear Fallout) has the same wheel layout as the third pic that JD posted, complete with shinies and all.

Fracture, can that juggler atleast get under RPB?

JD:

They shouldn't go under the chassis anyway since they're attached the exact same way as on NWB.

VB: Well, it always either ties or wins, never loses, so I would say yes...

I honestly feel that if a bot can get under RPB then its wedges are atleast good. You might want to try to lower the wedges a bit more than what you have in that pic.

Lowering them doesn't help. I feel like it should at least be able to slide smoothly under RPB but that never happens, it's more they bump each other away and then my bot gets under in the next collision.

Oh, and in my game, for some reason RPB gets under NWB even with NWB in the player 1 slot (tried three times)...I'm testing this in the Combat Arena, any explanation?

RPB actually isn't that wedgy.  It's mainly hard to get under because it's so wide, and the gap is filled with spinning razors nearly scraping the floor.  It's really hard to get a true head-on wedge collision, but if you do, it's not super difficult to get under.

Try rotating the Snapper IIs 90 degrees so they rotate on a horizontal axis, and see if that helps the wedges.

This conveniently required a chassis rebuild...and didn't help. :FFFUUU

NWB still slides right under with ease. So do Epic and Insectoid (the latter of which gets under NWB in my game for some reason). Hell, Epic Jr. gets under it and it has SnapperII wedges.

Epic Jr. and Insectoid actually are the two wedgiest bots of Starcore, as I found.

Insectoid is way underappreciated.  It's at least as good as NWB or RPB if not better, yet no one seems to talk about it.  Maybe it's because it has no convenient three-letter acronym.  IST?  ITD?  ISD?

If you really want good wedges, one thing you can try is stripping the bot down to the bare essentials (chassis, drive, wedge, and nothing else) and trying to get under various bots.  If the wedges are bad, get a different setup or add ballast and try again.  If they're good, then add weapons and armor and hope they stay good.  If they don't, get a different setup for weapons or armor.

Shallow chassis wedge > Ramplates

Yes Click I know it's narrow but putting the SnapperIIs beside the DDTs and stacking two blacks means only 4 razors and regular Z-tek drive. D:

Goddammit I am tired of everyone getting under me

COME AT ME BRO

250 kg of front ballast and it flips BACKWARD? Physics has taught me nothing.

Is that all you can say? They actually help in this occasion.

Fracture, that was lulzy, I like your sense of humour there =D

But why the pinks?

This is no laughing matter. My game seriously hates me and my wedges! I even used the shallowest possible wedge for the second bot so only purple batteries fit, and the wedges still sucked!

I know, but your delivery and the way you say it makes me smile to myself. :)

But BOT. Your game hates you D:

One thing I can suggest of the last one though is the slight smaller ones, I forget the name, rubbers? The smaller 17kg ones.

Looking quite nice. The hammer looks a bit lacking in weaponry compared to the other two, but other than that it looks excellent. Have you tried using NC's Movepixel tool to get the third black in? Sometimes that can make the difference. How wedgy is it?
