Only just saw this... Saber, I can see the concept you were going for but think it really needed a V setup to deal with the knockback and push the clock away, also there wouldn't be any supports when driving inverted. Were the spikes that heavy?
Both good points. I'll remember the V-setup suggestion for next time. And yes, the 120cm heavy spikes are 50kg each, so that's 1/4 of its entire weight sticking out of the front. Award votes: Most Exciting Robot: Time Machine, hurling itself and The Clock all over the place. SFTW Award: The Little Bot That Could, its weapon was too big and heavy and its body was too fragile. Luckiest Bot: Not sure, I'll have to watch through them again. Unluckiest Bot: Bacon Flipz, so close to getting The Clock out. Surprise of the Tournament: Try Hard or Try Home getting torn apart quicker than Saber, I thought it would beat The Clock comfortably. Greatest Moment of the Tournament: That first immense flip that R01 got in. - SFTW Award: Saber, too slow and underpowered for its own good.
I'm not going to object to your vote, but I would like to note that Saber is powered by 2 T64 Fasts and I could hardly have made it much faster. Though maybe all the tipping over didn't help.

ngl I was gonna ask for a grudge match against Pinchy just for the hell of it, but then I realized we'd be fighting each other in the rumble anyway :P But yeah, it's pretty much become a running gag at this point

Bottom 4 grudge match sounds like great fun. The Little Bot That Could and Try Hard or Try Home will probably tear each other to pieces in spectacular fashion, Pinchy will be hurtling uncontrollably all over the place, and Saber wasn't built to fight anything that isn't The Clock so it'll probably get in a few good hits then fall over frontwards and get annihilated. Again. Can't wait to watch it

...well, I did better than Try Hard Or Try Home, and I made it into the intro, plus I think I can say I learned something from this. So not a total failure, then. I don't regret not building a flipper, I only regret not building such a front-heavy robot. Congrats to R01, a spectacular and well-earned victory.

Yay I'm not last anymore  Was kinda worried for Mule's Kick after it took a fairly hefty whack, but it managed to get the job done in the end, and just in time too. I'm sensing a pattern now though, the losing bots all tried to outweapon The Clock and/or attack its vulnerable sides, while the winning bots were all just like "lol wedge". Curious how Kurt's bot will fare.

That... did not go according to plan. You can see what I was trying to do there, but I wasn't counting on The Clock being able to tear off the front stabilizers, and once those went, there was nothing Saber could do. Welp, at least I can say I tried something different ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Your bot's been surprising me. I thought for sure it was too underweaponed to achieve anything. Turns out those saws are pretty good if you're given an opportunity.
I think the ice cannons help as well, combined with the ninja stars they can rack up a frightening amount of damage. Also, is there anything Spooky Scary Skeletons hasn't been mashed up with?

Me too. I know large treads are durable, which is why I tend to use 'em in Ironforge, but I didn't think they were THAT durable.

I thought Strawberry Trapper was gonna win that one, its lifter was perfect for "trapping" Wham-O's axe, but alas it was not to be. CarboniZe is truly frightening, it could go all the way. And that was one  of a flip by Pangolin!

I'm not sure which Sun Ray won that :P Holy crap, my second clutch victory against an axebot in the space of twelve hours! I'm surprised the axe hasn't come off before, to be honest. Not sure that really settles the question of which is better. Never mind. Not surprised at losing the Spinneroo Mate-Termite three-way battle, two spinners at once is a little too much for Deathstalker to handle. On to the awards: Coolest entry: Not sure it's "cool", exactly, but Squawk. It's a chicken. Best entry: Blizzard. There's a reason people tactically voted it out of the final four. BTSHDBBDDTBL: Battle Breaker. Powerful weapon, even with the incorrect wiring, and it's a nice compact design, but it was unlucky to be drawn against Blizzard, a little unlucky to lose to Blizzard, and unlucky IMO not to get a wildcard. SFTW: Great Suisse. Luckiest entry: Has to be Deathstalker. Has to be. Was originally gonna say Hypershocked but its progress was down to tactical voting as much as luck. Best moment: Sun Ray v Sun Ray upside-down The Deathstalker-Blizzard match. Specifically, the final moments, where we were both at critical health and I JUST got the killshot in first. Ignoring the fact it was my own bot, that was an awesomely close match.
