I mean you can just have a havok restart rule for that, you're probably gonna need one anyway. I also personally think a rule where if a battery or the CB is knocked off a bot, the bot instantly loses. This prevents extenderbots with pixel chassis (i.e. all of them) from being invincible even after being completely taken apart.

wait nvm I'm a fuccin retard. Parsec is just streaming the inputs from (and hosts's screen to) another user right? So netcode isn't even a factor and so extenderbots won't be an issue

And it's beautiful
that is really nice, this is one of my favourite showcases
Thank you. You should check out Arcane's showcase, Craaig's cephalopod's showcase or Thyrus's showcase. They're all much better than me at pretty IRL bots \ its a lw [ Quoting of attachment images from other messages is not allowed ]
Wait, so it that a 180 burst motor?
You can BFE a burst to swing as far as you want, although it starts getting pretty shaky after 2.9 radians (~166 degrees).
^ this, this particular burst is at 3 radians but it is pretty stable outside of the botlab test arena in my testing. The highlighted text is the entry for the burst component in the .bot file. The last line is the starting position (first number) and ending position (second number) of the burst in radians, with 0 being unmoving from the start position and 2.4 being the furthest away setting in the botlab. You can edit it to whatever you want in the .bot file though, and 3 is about 170 degrees.

wtf why. I thought viewing figures were good?

It's technically IRL, but all those little things poking out make the bot look very un-irl. If you look at IRL bots they look more like a solid shape than a mass of spike and dangly bits.

Very well done, I wish there was a way to make the polycarb. panels on the disc fit together.

I really like the disc and the overall layout of the bot. Good work.

CW, nearly got it down to MW but was about 50kg overweight, so I ended up stacking the small typhoon teeth. Slow AF because there's no room internally for larger drive motors. And a MW version with a Perm-80 and microvore disc (ew):

Hey, welcome back to GTM. Just so you know, DSL has almost entirely moved into an IRL building meta. Not saying that you should follow suit, just letting you know since IRL wasn't really a big thing back in 2015 IIRC.
As for criticism on the bot, I think 4 black batts is way too much for your bot, 2 should be perfectly fine for 2 drive motors and a burst. Your bot's wedge is also very narrow which would make it more difficult for your bot to keep another bot on that wedge, particularly against HS. Lastly, that plow on the back is mostly wasted weight, since bots in RA2 rarely get attacked from behind, and if they do they're kinda screwed, plow or not, due to how the AI functions. Better to use that weight for a more powerful flipper burst or multiple bursts IMO.

I really like pokebro's bot, maybe because I'm a total Behemoth fanboy and there's more than a vague similarity. Who could've guessed that a challenge match forcing the use of buckets would result in a pushing match between two flippers. I was hoping for a series 7 x-terminator style VS but I guess that wasn't the obvious building choice. At least we got to see a behemoth klone :)

eh, I think IRL has been around long enough that what's acceptable and what isn't is fairly well defined. And I think the element of human control opens a lot more doors in the IRL ruleset than the DSL-S ruleset. Of course, it's your tournament, but that's my perspective on it FWIW.

interesting idea, I think online battles strongly lend themselves to IRL building styles though. I could see extenderbots being an issue netcode-wise in that case. In any case, I'm interested to see how this goes!

I think they would benefit a lot from higher res skins, 1024x1024 maybe. Very neat build though, good work. I wonder if they're actually capable of getting under bots with low ground clearances like flippers though

guess what these are for The weapon motors are exposed on both, but my thinking is that for the AW it would be protected by the rotating bar, and for the BW IRL I could just chain drive it but none of the chain drive motors in DSL are light enough (and the flatmotor is OP ). The drive motors are actually inside polycarb extenders on the AW but it doesn't show well on the screenshot. Steel 1 and a 120x40 polycarb panel for the BW's armour.

I'm gonna pull out, don't want to put the time in to making a bot and I don't want to be accused of just stomping newbs again if I win.

very nice. Are those 4x NPC fasts driving it? Should be a fun bot to watch
