The standard stock ruleset is that CF is not allowed in any form, I believe. Even the RO7 break, which usually is allowed in DSL-S and IRL tournaments, completely breaks the stock meta.

I'm like 105% sure that he didn't ask Dragonfire to host before posting that comment lmao

yeah np. I'm also happy to do a separate IRL challenge with you afterwards, Hoppin, on the condition that Wen picks the weightclass (CW or below).

I like it. Can it actually OOTA anything? What burst are you using?

It's not a replica, but you could say I was inspired by a certain bot. Triple extender axe shaft looks too thicc to me, but a single looks too thin and a double is off-center and weird. Oh well.

nah it's finalised on the site now, I tried to fix it to no avail.

I like the execution, just not the concept. I think for poly panels to look good as armour your bot's internals need to be really dense, with not much empty space. I personally also don't really like how the wedge gets narrower toward the front, it just doesn't sit well with me for some reason. It's a well put together bot though.

DSL Final: Note: I messed up on the Challonge page, a couple bots are the wrong way around in the final standings. If you watch the video it'll be clear who placed where and who won what.

I like the design, especially the drive and aerials. Not a fan of the colourscheme but that's just me I guess. The decoration extenders on the disc aren't perfectly symmetrical are they? Maybe a hexplate instead of a 45deg. connector would fix that. Also not a big fan of the extenders sticking out at the side but that's just nitpicking. Overall it's beautiful IMO.

Fun fact, the 6mag actually has a higher top speed than the dual perm
I still think that it's a bit weapon-spammy and tryhard for IRL, but i guess I'm hardly one to talk.

That looks real good. I've been wondering for a while if it's worth keeping the weight off a bot so it's a bit faster? or is that dumb?
In general you'd be better off using that weight to improve the drive system or improve something else on the bot. Lighter IRL bots are more likely to just bounce off the opponent than wedge under them as well, so for a flipper staying 50kg underweight doesn't really make sense

Good to hear, will there be any tweaks to Eruption's flipper in the next build? That's what I'm really looking forward to!
Yup! Way more powerful, with a much improved range of motion.
Please keep in mind that Carbide, Original Sin, and Eruption only exist in these early development builds. We don't have permission to use them in the final game. Right now we are using them to prove out the physics and AI tactics, and we have the goal of being able to build and test a solid functional replica of a wide range of real-life robots in the BotLab. All of the parameters for a CO2 flipper should be tweakable in the BotLab, such as hinge range of motion, piston diameter, stroke length, buffer tank volume, etc.
Great to hear! Another question, are you planning on having AI bots be part of the .exe of the game (like how it is now) or separated out into their own files, like how RA2 does it? Since RW is dead now, if you ask nicely you might be able to get permission from the builders of at least Eruption and Carbide to use their bots, maybe after a rename/recolour to avoid copyright issues w/ Mentorn. I know the builder of Eruption used to post on GTM pretty regularly so I'd be surprised if he were against the idea. Just thinking since it would be a shame for the work that's gone into modelling and implementing these bots to go to waste.

Purely aesthetically, I think it would look best without sheets or spikes. But then it would be sh** in battle so it's a tradeoff. I love the martini paintjob too, great work!

@Ra2Winner999 Please don't make multiple posts in a row. Instead, edit your previous post and add whatever you want to say onto it.
@cjbruce I don't mean to be pushy, but is there an ETA for the next build's release? I'm really looking forward to it.
