Seriously, if you really go to Chernobyl, even for a few hours, the radiation there will poison you, and therefore, kill you.
People go to Prypiat and the area around it all the time for tourism and to conduct tests on the radiation there all the time, and last I checked there were still people working AT the Cherynobyl plant to keep it stable or to guard it or something like that. It's really not that dangerous if you only stay for a day.
