True. The plan right now is to go for the same thickness, just with a stronger material.
got one of the Sparks that got damaged against Ripto working again, but the one with the bent shaft looks dead. Might just be the ESC acting up again, I'm still fiddling with it.

yeah but it'll get annoying to have to cut+bend a new wedge for every single event. A steel wedge should get me through a few competitions.

Alright, here's how I did.
First match was up against Guildenstern, who I was really darn scared of. I managed to get under early and drive him around, but eventually I got flipped. I thought I was a goner, but FireArrow surprised me-I was able to torque-react my bot upright again. Unfortunately, I lost a wheel late into the match, then Guildenstern hit it in the back corner, sending it upside-down and driveless. So I got counted out.
Thought I was a goner at this point, that last hit knocked out one of the two Spark motors we had, and we didn't have spares. However, the guy that beat me offered a replacement Spark so I could get back into the game, which was awesome of him. We were able to get FireArrow fixed up and everything before the lunch break.
Next match was against A Glorified Doorstop, a neat little wedge bot with a drum. It was having some left over drive issues from its first match, so it was pretty easy for me to scoop it up and drive it around. The only damage it did was some scratched paint. I won an easy decision.
Weed Wacker was next, and the guy driving it used his 20-minute postponement to get it ready. Unfortunately, he never got the weapon working, so it became a really easy fight for me. There really wasn't anything he could do.
TTI Wedge was my next opponent, driven by the same guy who made Guildenstern. I wanted revenge, and I got some. I was able to get under early and often, never letting him drive me around. So, I won another easy decision.
Next up was Dust Pandemonium. I think this was the closest match I had all day. I was able to get under, but he also was able to get under me. A couple times in the match he was able to get under me and grind, and I thought that would give him the decision. Not so, as I won another decision.
My rematch with Guildenstern was up next, and I was really darn scared after last time. However, he had radio issues early on and almost got counted out before the fight started. Once he got it together, I was able to keep from getting flipped, and the most damage I took was a large chunk of the front wedge. I won what had to be a really close decision.
Next was the loser bracket final against Ripto. My wheels were toast after the last fight, and my only spares had been chunked apart by Guildenstern in the first fight. I still fought really well, not letting him get any hits on me until the last minute of the fight. His first hit bent the axle on the replacement Spark, and I couldn't drive with it anymore. I was still in the game though, and I was able to keep him from hitting me again until there were about 30 seconds left. This hit actually cut the rear panel in half and flipped me upside down. Not wanting to lose any electronics, I tapped out. Postfight inspection showed that he actually bent the gearbox, so I barely had drive on that side.
I was actually surprised to get the Best Driver award at the end. I didn't know I was that good :P

There were definitely some good fights. I think most of the fights should be up on Zipdragon's channel soon.

Back...
-Got third place and the best driver award. Didn't think I'd do as well as I did.
-Downside is that the bot doesn't work anymore. Ripto killed it in the loser bracket final. All it needs is some new motors and it can drive, but most of the armor is toast.
-Lost my first fight to Guildenstern. He ate one of my Spark gearboxes, but the guy that drove it lent me a new one, and that was awesome. Beat Glorified Doorstop, Weed Wacker, TTI Wedge, Dust Pandemonium and a rematch against Guildenstern before losing to Ripto.
-Baby Weed Wacker won FW, DDT won AW, Mondo Bizarro won BW and Threecoil won Mantis. More details will be up after I get some sleep.

After a brief scare in which one of the ESCs stopped working (thank God we got it to work), we'll be leaving way early tomorrow for Bot Blast. Wish me luck!
