lynel.png

Based on a lynel from Zelda: Breath of the Wild (specifically the one with the shock arrows). Was going for an archer on horseback vibe, which is where the piston on 4WD base came from. Looked at spike strips and thought they could represent lightning arrows from BotW quite well, adn the armour panels on the front are a bit like the lynel's armour plates. And the two sheets that point up are like a couple of horns.

My bot for VG Showdown 2. Above is the justification I gave freeziez for it being video game related. Based on (or moreso inspired by) the dude below

Aren't all DSL tournaments IRL?  If no are there any realism guidelines in the regular HWs?
no, all IRL extenderbots bots would break DSL-S rules a million times over, and the chassisbots pretty much all use RA2CF in an illegal way.

Tough nutter right there. What is the mag holding up, the top panel?
yeah, the firestorm flipper. It works really well as a srimech. I'd usually prefer to make my bots invertible or auto-self-righting, since a srimech is wasted weight that could be spent on something else. It's really difficult to get either of those 2 options when you're working with the behemoth scoop side panels though since they're so tall.

Reaper's Hug looks groovy, how well do the Behemoth scoops direct opponents into the weapon?

It works pretty well actually. The main issue with the bot is the low-ish reach, but it's not a huge issue. The DPS is insane.

If you wanna share your bots, you should take screenshots of them rather than share the bot files and a low res video. Very few people will bother to download the bot pack without knowing what's in it beforehand, but I'm sure you'll get plenty of interest if you share images that are easily viewable. We're looking forward to seeing what you've made!

I don't think there's a hard limit, it just craps out over a certain point. What on earth kind of AI pack are you trying to send? I think the full RWRA2 download is less than 2gb!

yeah your file is way too big. What kind of 2GB file are you trying to send over PM? Use mega.nz or google drive instead.

Tournament ideas:
- Parsec RWRA2
- Sumo but burst motors are banned
- All weapons do no damage. Flippers might have to be banned too
- Another Emergency Exit, or a different boss rush style tournament

Thoughts?

Sounds like GTM Battlebots except more restrictive.
Well...yeah.
Is it a bad thing?
Building replicas is already pretty difficult, so having a replica only tournament limits the number of people who will be interested. I doubt you'll get many people wanting to build a replica of YOUR choosing. You're basically doing a version of GTMBB that people are less likely to enter, both due to the reason I stated earlier and because GTMBB is an 'official' tournament.

I personally think replica tournaments are retarded anyway, but telling people which replica to make is taking away a huge reason for anyone to bother entering in the first place, at least in my view.

Sounds like GTM Battlebots except more restrictive.

I think people will be more excited if it's like Orc's Tourney on how you build the bots, which, as I said before, involves a person being given a RL bot to replicate, but have to add their own original twist to it
Even worse idea imo.

If you want to ask a ton of small questions like this, you're probably better off joining the discord or using the chatterbox on the main page. You'll probably get an answer faster and it doesn't spam the forum with a ton of new threads.

It's dsldarkspike1.txt.

Try using omni, I bet it's that DirectionalSpinner doesn't support srimechs. Why are you using that .py anyway? I've never seen it before

I'm a sucker for drums. It's a lovely build, shame it's gonna be stomped by the generic HS everyone is gonna enter.
