DSL TC Showcases / Re: Badnik's DSL Badniks« on: March 08, 2014, 08:19:16 PM »![]() quick CW, name is Shear Terror. 582, moe motor, npc/vlad drive, 4 ants, steel 3. Pretty good damage. Also I learned slightly more paint.net doing this skin. Yes I know the skin isn't amazing or anything, but it's better than half the skins I do right? 4104

might do that with the weight gained from the aluminum wedge, we'll see how much we have once we make the rear plate
Did as much wiring as we could with Nocturne. Weapon assembly is all set, as is most of the wiring, just need a battery now. The one I ordered from RMP won't fit so we ordered a new, smaller battery from Hobbyking. Similar stats so hopefully it won't be much of an issue. Here's both bots together as they stand right now. 4105
Robots Showcase / Re: Team Ignition« on: March 08, 2014, 05:12:27 PM »
So we went back to the aluminum wedge, current plans are to bolt a piece of steel to the back for assisted inverted driving, spinner protection (the main weak point in the last FireArrow was the back end) and a further back center of gravity so it can (hopefully) self-right.
Also I realized battle scars are cooler than an impervious wedge :P I considered your thing for a second andy but we're right at the weight limit as it is, and cutting off the top spikes isn't going to give us enough weight to do what we wanted to with the rear plate. 4106
Robots Showcase / Re: Team Ignition« on: March 08, 2014, 02:50:50 PM »I like the little teeth thing, it looks really cool. Yeah we've tried it with two different wedges (one with teeth and one without) and neither can really right themselves. Also, the teeth originally weren't going to be part of the bot and had to be cut at the last second for weight measures, and I decided "hey these could be bent forward and used as holding teeth". The righting thing is a major problem though. 4107

Walker looks sweet. I think it'd look better with a weapon, maybe a vertical spinner or axe?

Robots Showcase / Re: Team Ignition« on: March 08, 2014, 12:54:58 PM »Chassis is made from one solid piece as promised. There are literally no sharp edges on this robot, they've all been milled off. Top spikes were originally weight-saving measures but were made into holding teeth with a vise and hammer. Has serious issues driving inverted, might bend the teeth further forward. 4109

lol andy
Yeah Robo Rooter never did live up to its real potential, but I think it'll do better at Pennbots. 4110

Theres no point to that, we're fighting in an enclosed arena and BuffalOWNED has weak ass armor.

Wild 2.5 year bump appeared
Hyperactive was a pretty big disappointment. All sorts of hype on facebook and it went out in flames. 4112

Still trying to find time to build something. If not I'll probably just slap a flag onto an existing heavy (Probably Whirlytronic again)...

Lots of scifi and fantasy. Seconding Max on the whole H2G2 series.
Redwall is probably my favorite book series overall. 4115

Get rid of the hinged spikes and mount them on the aluminum extenders, other than that it's not bad. Liking the compactness.
