Recording is literally the easiest part of a tournament. Receiving, checking and AIing all the entries then producing splashes is far more difficult and time consuming, and unless you're very organised it can become an organizational nightmare very quickly. The format of your tournament makes this even more challenging, as every single modification of a bot is essentially a new entrant that you need to do everything except make a splash for all over again.
At the end of the day it's your choice, but I guarantee that it will only end up going one way.

My dude, you're setting yourself up for a massive fail here. Trust me, put this on ice for a short while and host a tournament with max. 8 entries first. You want to make this awesome idea reality but you have no idea how much time/effort it will take. There's a reason that it used to be a rule that your first tournament had to be limited to 8 entries.

Alright how about this: 1) You make this frankenmod 2) Nobody downloads it 3) I'm right about nobody wanting it Everybody wins, you get to make your compilation and I get to be smug :>

Of course you can make it not crash, just like you can blend all those foods together and it won't poison you. There's still no point to it because they don't compliment each other, in fact they make each other worse when combined.

"Should I combine Fish and Chips, Chicken Chow Mein, Yoghurt, Cheerios, Oxtail Soup and a Hot Dog?"
No. They do not work together.

I think restrictions aren't the answer tbh, it's hard enough getting people to build DSL-S or Stock to a reasonable standard as-is. IMO having the gimmicks be in the tournament format instead of the building restrictions is the way to go
If you were to go for restrictions though, giving each entrant a random bot type (or even an RA2 Randomizer/build a bot with dice spec list) would be cool.

Format and Rules:Up to 16 entrants DSL-S, IF-S and Stock MWs (<400.0kgs) Standard meta building rules apply for each meta. Flamethrowers are banned in all metas due to a bug in the KOTH game mode. RA2CF is banned in all its forms. KOTH on the Lumazone arena (hazards enabled), 2 minute matches 4 bots per match. The lowest scoring (or first to be eliminated) bot in each match is eliminated. If there is a tie for worst bot, the tied bots will fight to the death on the flextop. First bot out is eliminated. After each round of matches, the groups of bot are mixed and numbers kept equal and another round commences. This continues until there is a single bot remaining, who is the champion. Example: 8 entrants. First round is 2x 4-way rumbles. One bot eliminated from each. Second round is 2x 3 way rumbles. Third round is 1x 4-way rumble. Fourth round is 1x 3-way rumble etc. I reserve the right to reject your bot for any reason Each bot has a single free havok restart. Signups will last 2 weeks, after the first week a second bot may be entered Ironforge 1.2 will be used Signups:DSL-S:1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 7 - 8 - Ironforge 1.2:1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 7 - 8 - Stock:1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 7 - 8 -

Yeah! I'm really glad that I didn't lose to RedAce again by being dewedged. Glad to see that my plan of yeeting all the HS out of the arena on the first hit came to fruition. GG to all, I do feel a bit bad about winning with a lazy year old re-entry though. Thanks for the quick video output Yugi, I'm looking forward to your next tournament (assuming you're hosting another)!

Oooh those splashes are fancy
I'm expecting some stiff competition from Plerco in DSL-S and Ironforge, and from Dark Al in Stock. Hyped for the vids!

He's also running a beta version of windows server for some reason. Ignore him.
@Asbes You can't expect to run games made in 2018 on hardware or software that is well over a decade old.

Mega host should be an award not a title. A challenge title holder award would be cool too, it might make people actually participate
Great feature overall, thanks for doing this 09

Relive when I have an AMD GPU, Shadowplay when the Nvidia drivers decide that they want to work, OBS when they don't.

You saved it as an 8-bit file, it needs to be a 24-bit file.
