Was at a work event yesterday, so I didn't get to build anything. I'll catch up at the weekend but for now I'm a day behind, so here's my Day 16 bot. The theme was "Angular", so here's another remake: It's slow, but the flipper and wedge seem decent enough.

The awkward moment when the only one of your robots that wins is the one you were retiring because you thought it was crap I really enjoyed OWO, this series has become one of my favourite RA2 tourneys and I'm already hyped for OW3.

Day 15's theme was "Weak", and I really didn't know what to build for that for a while. Eventually I settled on an AW flipper with the weakest armour in the game, weakest drive in the game, weakest wheels, fragile flipper panel... and named after a robot I built out of Construx as a kid. 100% certified joke-bot.

Day 14's theme was "Clock". The idea came to me pretty quickly for this one, and I think it came out looking pretty great. Yes, it's a Tombklone, but it's a 24-karat Tombklone

Day 13's theme was "Guarded", so my idea was for a boxing-themed robot with a steel wedge, that's "guarding" against attacks, waiting to strike the killer blow. It came out a bit less "guard"-ish than I intended... ...and I can't submit it for Deathmatch 3 because of all the 45-degree angle extenders. Looks cool though, right?

Thank you all for the kind words! Here's the bot that I didn't build yesterday. The theme was "Whale", so I decided to go big... or rather, HUGE. Has dorsal fins and a giant stabilising tail, and performs about as well as you'd expect a Huge clone to perform.

Nice builds there! And no need to worry. You're still the same guy :)
Thanks, man, both of those statements mean a lot. Especially coming from you, who is a really good DSL builder I'm at a coworker's leaving drinks today, so there may not be a build today. If not, I'll double up on Saturday to make up for it. There won't be a build on Tuesday because of other work commitments so I will definitely be doubling up on Sunday to make up for that.

Day 11's theme is "Cruel", which I figured I could build literally anything for. However, it's also National Coming Out Day and I've been feeling kinda bad lately so I sorta... vented slightly. Yes, this is me coming out to you guys. Not the best way to do it, but hey.

Day 10's theme is "Flowing". Real life rather got in the way today, but fortunately I already had a bot idea in my head while I was at work, and I was just barely able to get it done: I need to spend less time BFEing things around and more time working on the skins.

Day 8's theme is "Star". I've wanted to make a Nightmare-style VS for a while, so I took the opportunity. Had to do the splash image slightly differently as a result.

Sadly it doesn't actually work properly, it constantly pulls to the left and ends up spinning in circles. It's not as clean-looking as it could be, either, I ran out of time and weight to make the extenderwork look better (though maybe I should drop some of it down from Steel to Ti...)
Looks pretty neat, although how exposed the drive motors are does irk me somewhat. In terms of your turning issue try rotating the wheels before you attach them to the axle. Normally fixes that kind of thing.
Yeah, same. I'll try fixing the wheels, thanks for the suggestion. Anyway, on to Day 9! The theme was "Precious", so of course it had to be a precious gemstone: It was a real challenge fitting this inside the LW limit, and it's only got 2 black batts so it probably won't last too long. It takes after my BW Obsidian in that it's designed to counter overheads, by charging them around the arena while whacking away with the axe until (hopefully) the bar falls off. I think a lot of my Botober robots are going to need some visual polish come November.

owwwwww my poor eyes
Anyway, they're kinda generic, but not bad. My main concern is that their wedges stick out too far and they might not actually be able to hit anything, especially with how flat some of the other AW/BW overhead spinners are. Acid Trip is also a little underweight, you've got room for better armour depending on what its current armour is.

Tiny Crab needs better drive, but other than that I will absolutely blame the host for that.

Day 7's theme was "Exhausted". So I decided to build the one type of robot (apart from Flatmotor BW overheads) that everyone's exhausted of seeing: the good ol' Tombvore. Bonus points if you get the reference.

I didn't get to finish yesterday's Botober robot because migraines, but I finished it off earlier today and now I've build today's robot as well. So first off, Day 5's theme was "Chicken". There was only one logical thing to do: build a (sort of) Robochicken replica. He protecc, he attacc, but most importantly, he clucc. Day 6's theme was "Drooling". Again, the only thing to do was to make a robot with a giant clamping jaw (pictured here with said jaw closed). Neither of them are even remotely combat-effective, and I'm not sure Gluttony even looks that good because I've never built a jaw robot like this before and it's horribly messy, but at least they're both more unique and interesting than Thousand Needles was :P

Day 4's theme is "Spell". I've been playing a lot of Final Fantasy V recently but still struggled to think of a spell that translated well into a combat robot (and that wasn't Fire). Then I remembered a certain Blue Magic ability... It's simple, but it works.

I like the idea of Inktober+Bots, Are you going to continue this till the end of the month?
That's the aim! There's a couple of days where I'll be busy with work commitments and might not have the time, so I might have to double up on some days to make up for it. I'm already surprised at how much traction and attention this is getting. A bit off topic, but should we start a prompt turned into bot building stuff, and building challenges, like making a rep, but with a twist to it?
Sounds a bit like what the old BOTM used to be like. Would certainly be interesting.

Day 3's theme is "Roasted", and I already did a flamethrower on Day 1... welp
Solution: build a flaming hammer. The name may or may not have been inspired by the coffee machine in my office, and the skin is a total rush job because I was running out of time, but I'm still pretty happy with this. I'm getting to try out new ideas, and that's always a good thing.

Day 2's theme is "Tranquil", and I spent most of the day racking my brains about how to make a robot out of that. Eventually I just resorted to a ring spinner with a pretty picture of some cherry blossoms on it. Nothing says tranquil like cherry blossoms, especially when they're surrounded by Typhoon teeth mounted on a 6-Mag spinner. Day 3's theme is "Roasted", and I already did a flamethrower yesterday... welp

For Inktober, I've gone a bit crazy and decided to try and build a new robot every day, following the Inktober themes. At Hoppin's suggestion, I'm calling it "Botober". Day 1's theme is "Poisonous", so here's a MW flamethrower inspired by my old robot Venom: I'm reluctant to post all 31 robots here as I go, in case I clog up my showcase with double-posts, or stop halfway through and look like an idiot, or something. Just wanted to highlight that I'm trying a thing.
