Guys would anyone be able to help me learn how to create a decent robot on robot arena using this mod? I would want to try recreate something like wild storm or mega morph
This mod isn't really optimised for making your own bots, DSL 2.2 is more suited for that. It's not impossible, just harder to make something look decent. If you want to improve your bots, you're best off making a robot showcase. Here's a good example showcase if you're wondering how to get one started.

Yeah I've already quit lads, I will do the odd few favours for DSL in the future as pay pack for the help and support with RWRA2. But I am well and truly done now, far too much going on with life and the rabid foamboys have complained more than anything. The old models we made that needed updating, that we have permission for will be included as well as the new robots.
I'll let you all know this now, since its not going to happen anymore....
We were in the midst of developing a stand alone game for the Robot Wars brand that would've been downloadable on steam and Xbox One. And the stage it got to was pleasing but we can't see it being financially supportive enough compared to the development needed.
All good things must come to an end I'm afraid.
Are you able to say how far this standalone game got? Any pre-alpha screens? It's pretty heartbreaking to learn that a standalone game got cancelled.

Firstly, I'm still almost certain this is a long, drawn-out troll by someone from GTM
If there was to be another robot combat game, I would worry that it would ha e limited customization, like the official RW games that only let you swap out parts.

You lied to me reier when you said ninja stars were op! You lied to me!
gg bro, thanks again to redace for hosting i was wrong
I saw that this morning and cringed when I remembered my entry for this. All my fault for not checking myself tho. Besides, I don't the the weapon choice was the reason I lose, rather the overall layout of the bot.

I've been finding out recently that the further you put the skirt/wedge/whatever from the center of the hinge/burst/etc the worse it becomes. If your wedge is dead center to the axis of the burst its your best bet. The same applies to angled skirts, they get "less wedgy" the further you get from the center.
So how do skirt hinges compare to metal hinges if you only use the centre connection point? Are they still a bit worse, about the same or better? yeah 123 went over the skirt hinge stuff maybe 1 or 2 years ago. There's actually applications for all 3 of the wedge types we've got in DSL, since Mako wedges work well on slower bots, but yeah Skirt hinges have their uses again.
Which VS were you referring to, TRB? Hex plates normally work fine as a tough extender since they have a high fracture iirc. At least I've pretty much never seen them get broken anyway. As for the one where they're the weapon extenders, they last longer than most equivalents.
I was talking about disfear, I really like that kind of bot

Just asking, why do you use skirt hinges for wedges? I thought metal hinges made the best wedges.
That VS looks awesome, btw. Do those hex plates last long enough?

lol no it wasnt about the wedge war. it was about redace's bot inverting itself with it's too-powerful burst piston and not being invertible.
If I had lost the wedge war it would've been gg tho
wedge war doesn't really matter when you are as unstable as redace's bot...
I disagree, I don't think my bot could've recovered from getting out-wedged.

I was just about to post a challenge for a Ironforge LW match :P Alright, let's do it. Best of 3 I assume?
Of course, of course =P Anyone up to host?

yup thing is if you do a "no wedges" challenge it's just who can spam more weapons on their HS/SnS

Wait, you're stopping development? That's an awful shame, unless you've completely finished everything you wanted to do. This mod has definitely created the best RW game of them all, and I'm truly grateful for all the hard work the whole dev team has put into the project.
