Fun fact: Challenger 1 had a Heavy Spike mounted on a burst piston, so it looked like it was firing shells out of the turret. I gave Challenger 2 a flamethrower instead in the hope that the flames would spread out and actually hit things, and because I honestly just like flamethrowers

Have to admit, I feel sorry for Sickle. You see (what I strongly assume is) his entry, scroll down, and see freaking Salamander immediately underneath it. That's gotta be demoralising for a newbie entering BOTM for the first time(?), especially when he already seems to be having confidence issues from constantly being told his extenderbots are too large and too boxy. And that's not getting into Sagaris' entry...

I like the way the teeth are done but overall it's still pretty bland. Someone really needs to come out with a reskinned shell spinner pack.
Depending on what the extenders are made from, you should have enough weight to move the motors up slightly and put some bigger wheels on it. It'll increase the bot's speed, and reduce the risk of a gut-ripping VS sniping one of those wheels off.

For those who aren't in the Orc's Wars Discord, last weekend there was a Parsec tourney where you had one hour to build a replica of a given RW competitor, and then they all duked it out. I was given Behemoth, and ended up with this: It wasn't that good, as the lifting plough was too heavy, but I thought, "Hey, that's a pretty cool shape, I could do somethin with that". And for those who aren't in the Banter Wars Discord we really need that centralised tournament hub from the "what to do with GTM" discussion, it was announced yesterday that BW 3.5 is going to be a DSL tourney. So I rebuilt an old experiment from late 2017, using Beermoth's shape as inspiration, and behold: It's underweight and practically weaponless but it's suitably "banterous" and I love it tbh

Switched the batteries from blacks to reds, shrank the disc (and guard) down slightly, and dropped a couple of panels at the back from Steel to Ti. Rather than try and fit a 6-mag in, I decided to use the leftover weight to put some panels on the bottom on the wheel pods, as it didn't have any before and it felt wrong: I also used BFE to hide the extender that the Tornado Mer is attached to: it's inside the chassis now instead of poking awkwardly out of the top. It wasn't visible in battle anyway, but it was visible in the Bot Lab and it annoyed the hell out of me.

Also, there are extender anchors that weigh 4 kgs. Try using those to save a little space
You're actually better off using a 10cm Square Aluminium Extender. It has the same shape and attachment points, but it only weighs 0.8kg, and since anything attached to the baseplate is invincible, the hit points really don't matter. I've found them very useful for shaving weight off older builds.

TBH, I preferred the previous colour scheme. "Blinding", maybe, but it stood out more. Now it just looks like every other flipper you've ever built. It's as clean as your usual builds, don't get me wrong, it just... doesn't stand out from them, IMO.

Another rebuild of an older bot: my undercutter, Bluebird. The previous versions never fought - unless you count Horror of Koror, which was basically Bluebird 4 - so hopefully this one gets some action. And hopefully it looks a bit less generic than some of my other recent builds, even if the colour scheme still feels a bit plain.

Free component-modding tools? Shut up and take my money!
Could you elaborate on the "daisy-chaining", though? I'm not sure how that's supposed to work.

I expected Ice That Melts The Tips to do badly, but I'm glad it at least won a fight, and in pretty convincing fashion. I have the incentive to rebuild it now, plus knowledge of what needs changing, so I'd say this tourney has fulfilled its intended purpose.

Two verts and a drum... not exactly full of confidence, but at least Ice That Melts The Tips is finally getting some action after six months of gathering dust on my hard drive. Hopefully I'll learn some things for when (if) I rebuild it.

if your defining wondering spinner as something that can bounce off walls then you have just covered every bot ever made that has bad wiring or loses a wheel.
Or any slightly-unbalanced overhead spinner

Have all tournaments out in open not special discord only servers nobody knows about. By extension the host will still have option of allowing someone to join or not but at least it shows there are active tournaments..
Yes please. I'm in Discord servers for three different RA2 tourneys now, plus Sagaris' ARC-style thing he's doing, plus the main GTM server. I didn't know about alloftheman's tourney because he posted about it on Discord but not here. Having everything in one place would be a bit more convenient. personally i've been thinking about a fully re-balanced implementation of the stock game, with added component customization options and such. like i said im gonna mess around with the idea for a while and see what i can make of it.
ngl, I would probably play Stock (and Ironforge) a lot more often if they had 2.2CE levels of component customisation (or even just base 2.2 levels). It'd also lessen the "all competitive Stock bots look the same" issue that I've heard people bring up in the past. I'm all for DSL 3 getting completed as well, there's already been a lot of progress made and a lot of ideas floated around. The main thing we need is a community consensus on what's going to make the cut and what isn't, what's needed and what isn't.

Wandering Spinners are unique, and many bot builders have a taste for bots other than WS.
Again, many people come to GTM for ideas and downloads, especially people new to RA2, so I don't think it's a bad idea...
Ok dude, I don't mean to make you feel bad but. No one is interested in WS. All the people who are making them are doing it to take the piss. I know you have good intentions and I'm sure you have skill in bot building-he'll that weird bug thing you made was awesome- but your pushing WS too much dude. People don't care as much about them as you think.
And yet everytime he posts a wandering spinner he gets a guaranteed ten replies that all keep saying the same thing. I sure wish I got that many replies on my bots. If we don't care about his WS builds, maybe we should just... ignore them?

It would be cool to see some Arenas made for smaller weight classes such as antweights or beetleweights,
Pretty sure that exists
There's an AW arena in DSL, but it looks like crap IMO. A bit more variety would be nice. Maybe an AW version of the RW2016 arena, with smaller dimensions and less powerful hazards (so the floor flipper doesn't just yeet them out of the arena).

Jungle Fever is finally ready for its comeback.
For what?
That's a good question :P I'll have to wait for someone to announce a new HW tourney (or just save it for the OW3 World Champs, I guess). He could put it in RWL?
I don't know what that is.

Skin's updated and the teeth now match the disc. Jungle Fever is finally ready for its comeback. I've had an idea for a rebuilt Octane so maybe that'll be next on the agenda.

A little boxy, perhaps, but IMO this is your best-looking build so far. I'd move the front wheels forward and the wedgelets backwards (and maybe put something small on the sides to stop it getting stuck there) but those are the only real criticisms I can think of.
Only just seeing BanHammer and PermaBan, and I'd like to note that they're probably going to have zero traction. AFAIK, wheels only supply grip if they're mounted directly to the motor axle, so putting them on extenders like that is going to make the robot slide around all over the place and struggle to gain traction.
