I have 0 idea if #5 is an obj chassisbot or complete extenderbot. it would really help if you guys sent some info in your pms with your entrants
I thought it was a custom-skinned extenderbot tbh. Definitely looks like one. Anyway, I should probably stop showcasing my BOTM entries before the voting opens...

For a rookie, your builds are very ambitious. I like that. Keep it up!

Graf Eisen's draw looks great, it should be able to break Merry Go Pound and Dutch Turtle's weapons. Jungle Fever and Paralyzer shouldn't do too badly, either. Will be disappointed if none of my bots make it through their groups... though my tourney record these past twelve months has been dismal, so maybe I shouldn't expect much

Welcome to GTM! I agree with the others: you're progressing well, especially considering you haven't been building that frequently. I'm glad you decided to pick the game back up again after you got bored!
I'll ignore the bots in your first post, and go straight to the bots in your second one:
Merry Go Pound: This is great for a rookie! Shell spinners are usually considered bland-looking in RA2, but this one has a nice splash of colour to it. You can get rid of one of those batteries, and maybe save up enough weight to increase the chassis armour, so you don't get sniped by verts. Boop And Scoot: I really like the concept of this bot, it's such a unique design. It could definitely use some refinement - shrink it down a bit, try to tidy up and optimise the extenderwork, get some more armour on there. A more powerful burst for the hammer, and a thicker arm, would also be good ideas. I'd love to see a cleaner, more compact version of this. Chicken Biscuit: Nice vert. I like the design of the weapon supports. I think the wedges need to be moved backwards a bit, so they line up with the rest of the bodywork. Tender Kisses: The way you've combined the straight and angled shell panels makes this look less boring than other shell spinners that use the default parts, but IMO you've ruined the look by covering it in god-knows-how-many teeth and beaters. Some tourney hosts might consider that "weapon spam" and disallow the robot. Dial it back a bit - four large Typhoons should do the trick, and they'll have better range than those beaters. Plonker: Not your best work, I'm afraid. It's a rather plain box-wedge design, the drive motors stick out of the sides, the arm looks too thin and doesn't look like it has enough reach.

Another Nanoha-themed bot (that I should have finished weeks ago, RIP my productivity). Fast, compact, and hopefully distinct enough from my existing hammerbots. Fun fact: I wanted to put a flamethrower inside the hammer, but mounted backwards, so it looked like it was rocket-propelled. Sadly it wouldn't fit

shw is a no no
>tfw I put all that effort into Fait Accompli and it's not even going to get to fight I'm already out of the LW and MW brackets, so I'd be most interested in seeing the AW, BW, CW, and HW brackets get finished

How complex is the game's AI going to be? Will it be like RA2, where the robots more or less just drive straight at each other, or will you be able to program more complex behaviours? Things like pushing opponents towards hazards, timing flips instead of hitting the button instantly, preserving CO2 when it starts to run out, trying to aim for specific points like wheels...
Basically, we've covered that the AI shouldn't be able to do anything that a human player can't. But ideally, the opposite should be true, and human's shouldn't be able to do anything that an AI can't. I know that's unlikely, but the more lifelike the AI is, the better, IMO. It would prevent what you get in RA2 sometimes, where two robots with equal wedginess just push each other slowly round in a circle for three minutes.

After doing a few test matches with some LW/MW robots, I have a few questions. Firstly, I assume this includes unbalanced overheads that are Mauler-dancing all over the place? Manual countdowns will be enforced on robots that cannot actively pursue the opponent.
Secondly, if a robot Mauler-dances out of the arena, then back in again, does it count as a loss? Thirdly, am I allowed to send custom weapon textures with my bots? Amethyst seems like it might be good at countering overheads.

I'm somewhere in between the first and second ones, I don't play every day due to time constraints but I'm still invested in RA2 and still have ideas for bots I want to build.

Can I send my HW now and then send a MW and/or LW later? Otherwise the slots are all gonna fill up.

Im so sorry. I forgot.
Eyyyy, you're back! I heard you'd left the site or something. Yeah, First Blood looks lethal, wouldn't want to be going up against that. Babaulti and Greedee, too. Typhoon verts really are the meta, it would seem.

I love that this tournament is called "Everything is too OP" and yet robots can get turned away for being too OP Nah, seriously, this sounds like fun. Reminds me of when I used to do Grand Prix 4 crash compilations and turn the damage multiplier up so cars fell apart at the slightest touch. Don't suppose you could give us a rundown of how much each motor gets buffed by the patch?

I love it. Throw that in for Banter Wars 3.5.

I finally gave this album a listen after playing "Chinese Burn" on repeat for the last ten months (it's the song my personal text comes from). IT'S SUCH A GOOD ALBUM. "Forgotten Sanity" in particular, I'm going to be repeating for the next ten months.
Yep. Still listening to "Forgotten Sanity" and "Chinese Burn" on repeat. Also this:

There's a pattern emerging of me entering red bots with unconventional weapon systems, doing better than I expect, and going 1-1. I wonder what I'll end up entering for Deathmatch 4?

Looks like Quartz has two fundamental flaws I need to iron out. The front panels need to be moved forward slightly so they actually protect the chassis, and I need to improve the self-righting. I think I can lighten the flipper to help with that, as it didn't take nearly as much damage from the three spinners as I expected. Also, according to my spreadsheet, the loss to Deadgnaws was my 100th in all competitions

Wow, 8bean's bot is woke
Also you've got some "invalid attachments" at the end of the splashes
