honestly if youre looking for realism i'd just go use dsl. stock's components are too limited to do anything fun with unless you're really good (like thyrus)

go into the arenas folder and look for sergepatcher_freedom.py, and make sure none of the lines in the ENABLED_MODS section have a # in front of them

another thing i noticed is that the background music fades out whenever a sound effect plays, which is really annoying once you pick up on it.

gave it a download, really impressed with how far this has come so far.
some feedback: -reduce/remove the damage robots take when they are in contact with each other. i can understand doing damage on big rams, but d.b. spent nearly 3/4ths of a fight pushing me around and nearly got me into the pit before inexplicably losing because of contact damage. -give robots more hp in general. fights are decided way too quickly by relatively small hits. -most of the wedges seemed to have trouble getting all the way underneath their opponents to flip them, earthquake especially -most of the spinners seem underpowered except for bubblegum. not a lot of throwing power from either vertical haven't taken a look at the bot lab yet but i will soon. thanks for the frequent and impressive updates! edit: when bubblegum gets flipped and its shell hits the floor it will typically glitch out, either floating in place or causing either itself or both robots to explode: ![]() 286

ribbs was the guy who held the first irl tournament but i dont remember if stagfish's ai pack happened before or after that
i know thyrus was building irl since the beginning im sure you can trace the lineage back to before that but those three kind of got the ball rolling imo 288

my problem with this idea is, what's stopping someone from designing a dedicated counter to the current belt holder in order to simply take over the belt without a fight? i imagine the title system would eventually devolve into mass counterpicking.

dsl-s: final z, no contest dsl-irl: swarf, because dustpan saws are hard and i got mine to work insanely well at the lw level ironforge: six feet under. for my first irl-s bot in ages it's kicking ass so far in gtmcs, and i really love the skin work i put into it |
