if he's actually going to be running the overvolting mod then I can kind of understand the lower burst/weapom caps
It wasn't that the burst limits were lower that I found weird, it was the fact that no distinction was drawn between an extra short/ front hinge VDMA with 120 power, and a wide VDMA with 300 power.
either I'm retarded (which I am) and can't find it or he's removed the rulings on bursts
Yeah he removed it.

Previously it said this

that was for the lw side event

i think all of us just skim read the rules and thought the lw typeset was for the cws

otherwise yeah a so glue burst seems overly strict, and the new teeth limits kind of screw over some of the older seeds iirc

the burst limits were fine and are what the majority of tournaments have used for the past year and a half. bajurs just being a boomer tbh

y'all really don't want something like big oops or gandora/slapshot with more power

I'm not really fan of the weapon limits, mainly the beater limits seem a little off

personally I would just do something like

2 large teeth (typhoons, ripping, large nightmares etc)
4 small teeth (typhoons cutting teeth, nightmares)
6 large/medium beaters
8 small beaters/matildas

(this is mainly with vs in mind and the assumption that you have the colored beaters/buff)

edit nvm were going 4/6. ok well uhh large/med beaters could probably be buffed to 8 or 10 since they're weaker 1:1 with small typhoons

it isn't going to be perfectly balanced, but I think we all know that balance isn't a 100% thing in ra2

as a """boomer"""" I hate the fact I have to join a new discord server for like every god damn tournament to know whats even going on but that's just me
****ing this

I wouldn't mind if GTM weren't the only place to go for RA2 if I didn't have to go on a scavenger hunt to find the other ones. I swear the OW and PWS servers aren't public and they're apparently the most thriving places for RA2. I could be wrong by now (since I last checked) but I just can't be arsed to check and go on said scavenger hunt. I don't know how the current community puts up with it.
pretty much anyone who is remotely active and not a complete idiot/reject/boomer  is on those servers (which tbh theres only like 2 or 3 major ones)

i think there's an argument that invite only policies hurt the community in the long run, but i don't see this changing anytime soon as most people support them as a necessary evil to keep the community somewhat sane (which i tend to agree with to an extent)

What sort of time commitments are involved?

This is what I meant by "I dunno how much attention you guys were paying", I just worded it horribly. I have an hour in the morning, an hour at lunch, 3 hours or so at night, and all day Saturday and Sunday. If that's enough time in which to admin the site, then I can at least give it a go. It doesn't seem like much needs doing around here, but obviously I'm not privy to everything going on behind the scenes.
it's less a maintenance thing and more that you're supposed to be a figurehead in the ra2 community (although I think that more comes down to the person than the position itself nowadays). I would prefer that we have more than one active admin  to help even the workload and avoid a potential torv situation where we have no active administraiton

Orc also has expressed interest in taking the role, which I have no qualms with as I feel he would be a good fit as he is well respected and influential member of the community

Short and sweet: 09 and I have no longer have interest in being a part of the active administration are probably gonna join hoppin in the river

If you want to step up, then now's your time. I've asked numerous people who are well respected and upstanding members of the community and they've all said no. y'all love to contribute opinions on where this site should be heading, so now's you're chance lead it there yourself. also, 09 and I will probably remain on temporarily to assist with the basics of editing the forum until the new admin/s can get the hang of things (or you can just ping one of us when you want stuff done, that'll probably be easier for everyone)

If nobody suitable wants to take the positions, then we'll probably just give it to kix since he was the only one who said yes ( not that he was given a serious offer)

few updates: IRL arena will probably be a modified robot wars series 7 arena

we're currently voting on the teeth limit for irl

Mocking unpopular metas is a nice way to reinforce why we're considered a clique.
and stock and dsl-s are universally regarded as being the """wrong""" way to play the game outside of gtm. people are well aware of the elitist history behind those metas

regardless, it's going to to be ironforge hw.

also woke news: in true zoomer style we now have a server https://discord.gg/nYn9FS

Will this tournament be DSL - IRL? And I think, that commentary would be nice.
just gonna say, if it's only like a 60/40 spilt in favor of 3 irl divisions then we're probably going to go with 3 different metas. irl is still being included, and I think more people would be happy with a stock/if division than being bummed out about there not being an irl lw/mw/cw division

the weight classes will most likely be hw for all 3 metas as its the only remaining one left for stock and if, and sub hw is aids for IRL
there's 3 different divisions, the most popular one is going to be dsl irl

alright so the poll isn't finished, but it looks like the 3 metas will be stock hw (unrealistic), ironforge hw (standard), and dsl 2.2 (irl)

as for irl rules: would people prefer the 2/4 or 4/6 meta? which ever one passes will be slightly modified to a little more encompassing in terms of weapons, but it'll still. be familiar to those who play IRL
