the way youre mounting the wedge on the wammer-flipper makes it pretty bad (though i guess it doesnt really matter on a lw). you should also raise the wammer rack to the top of the wedge so the flipper can actually travel, and make the front of the wedge wide enough so that it doesnt get annihilated by hs

you could lower the chassis on your mw, and also use razors instead of irons. they do more damage which is vital for most gut rippers

theres no reason to use grannies on the hammer because you can use shinies instead. also get rid of that pink and stack the blacks so you can cut down on chassis space

you shouldnt need a smartzone to ai a sns, what .py are you using? also spiked clubs suck and you could definitely get two razors on there instead

why are you using mini wheels, especially on a beetleweight. remake the chassis so you can use shinies.

also i very highly doubt your "first ever armored lw popup" claim but theres a reason nobody does it, because it isnt necessary. rad drive is super slow for a lw popup and your chassis is narrow enough where hs will hit the sides and not the ramplate so its pretty useless

actually i lied this is my entry

(dsa obviously)

damn good wedges too, they beat nwb and nuclear fallout so im pretty happy with it. kill power is surprisingly lacking though which is my only real concern

The bots that face backwards will turn around and ZIGZAG towards their opponents. Don't worry about it. They work.

no see thats not how this game works

this kicks ass

did you try using narrow n-12s (from ironforge) instead of the slaphappy wheels? i think theyd look closer to the real thing

Can you give a stronger definition of what an "inexperienced stock builder" is? Would someone like me be considered an inexperienced stock builder? I'm going to guess not.

Also if someone sends in an entry that is too good (e.g. 36 HS on 4 HPZs) does that immediately disqualify them?

I would class an "inexperienced stock builder" as one that hasn't had much tournament experience or success, and isn't at the top level of building yet. I'd class you in that category.

Also yeah if someone sends me a really good bot then they don't really need the help I'm giving here do they?

love the usage of the wedge components on the axe. really helps the gothic axe mesh with the rest of the bot, instead of just being a weapon stuck on a stick

ok but blue snappers suck at flipping. it'd be much more efficient to just run the one nifty and use the weight elsewhere. if you really want to use weapons as a sort of pinning rack, then i'd suggest making some weight for a rack of weapons at the top of the wedge.

your rammer's about as standard as a rammer gets, but it can definitely be optimized further. try a chassis like this:

and see how much weight that saves you.

jesus christ stop posting so i can give you feedback

re: in plain sight
bunch of empty space you could cut out of the chassis. you only need the one nifty, since you're powering two motors. the iron spikes are in all honesty just hindering your wedge's effectiveness.

cut down to one piston, too. you can get that many weapons on the one. honestly i think the original had the better overall design, you just needed to work on the weapon system.

how heavy is tempest mini? two irons is almost nothing on a LW, i would cut down the drive and try to give it more weaponry. there's a bunch of LW face spinners out there with 8 razors, for reference

I downloaded your 1.0 ai pack and gave it some testing.

A few notes:
-There's a number of robots that are facing the wrong way, indicating you didn't really test this AI pack before releasing it :V
-Unneccessary Roughness could use a range decrease in bindings, right now it will flip over immediately as the match starts
-Quite a few robots are over-steering, which can be fixed by reducing the "turn" value in bindings
-Your popups could be improved by changing their .py from Omni to Popup
-Some robots (Summit in particular) either have weapons too far back or a smart zone too far forward.
-Firewall's weapons don't seem to spin.
-Please get Paint.net or something else that is better than MS Paint. Your team icons have that splotchy "I used paint bucket on a jpeg" feel going on and no one likes that.
-A number of your robots (In Plain Sight and Hazard-To-Game Crab in particular) could do with weaponry changes, as their weapons have normals, severely hindering their ability to gut-rip
-build quality is all over the map, but there are some pretty solid bots in here! Keep up your improvement and upgrading the robots in this pack and I think it has the potential to be up there with some of the greats.

*dusts off showcase*

achoo

i built this like a year and a half ago and decided to pull it out for RMP2. 397.1, dsa, hpz drive and nifty. theres definitely a lot of weight i could pull out of the chassis to maybe stick another razor on the piston (or upgrade to maces) but im lazy so there

why servo wedges? snapperIIs should fit and work better

other than that it's pretty solid. one black or two?

torn between the stock extenderbot (mad props to courthousedoc for pulling that off) and big bad wolf. the others are good but theyre nothing special splash or build wise.

irons have normals in ironforge.

the crushing teeth look like this:

i'd also suggest angling your side trappers outwards and maybe sticking a couple of weapons on them to trap hs more effectively

whiplash inspired? it's certainly interesting. i'd say you should try mixing up your color scheme more, and work on improving your skinning. the bot's a little too red right now imo

i'm also not sure how your bot's supposed to lift anything with the way the weapon is set up. try to protect your weapon motor some more too, it's hella exposed

the bars are a bunch of dsl bars attached together. its not one component.

resetti basically builds with whatever components look best for the bot he's trying to build. it's not uncommon to see him use stock, dsl and ironforge components on the same bot.

man im such an old man i dont even remember what my first irl heavyweight was. it might have been my bb1 entry, but i dont think that would class as irl anymore.

maybe i can dig up hard drive 2.1 and retrofit it with dsl2.2 battery tech
