MY BOY
That's a pretty decent use of 7 kgs, although I don't think it would matter much if that thing's a Havok bomb.
4Head

It's actually super stable, from what I've tested

Possible official tournament entry, idk its pretty boring. If I do enter it I'll give it a reskin. Points to whoever gets the reference.

well that's one way to run your company into the ground
Or not, they still sold an assload of copies at AAA price. Even if a ton get refunded, they made plenty of money off of NMS. The problem comes when they release their next game and nobody buys it.

Give IF a try dude, it builds quite similarly to DSL and its VERY easy to learn the different components.

2288
Seems good, except I would ban replica components for DSL2.2 or just use IF

TBH, it's really only beta in name only. The reason why it's a "beta" is because it currently only has 6 AI teams instead of 15, and also because I didn't expect to put as much in the beta as I ended up doing. All the components are there to get a metagame rolling. 70% of the default components and 60% of the cheatbot2 components are done, the other 30 and 40% mostly being misc. weapons. although these numbers don't take into effect any components that get left on the cutting room floor.

There are no exploitative components as far as I know, and I brainstormed out to see if there were any major tryhard/uncounterable designs with the cheatbot2 components. Closest thing I could think of is flying robots countering popups + HS only to be countered by VS + hammers, which I'm honestly okay with. I actually removed some of the things that made designs "broken" in other mods, such as piercing damage and caster armor.

the metagame is just young and in its early days.
Also worth noting that the metagame ain't going anywhere if nobody builds in it.
Ye can we keep it retooled please thank you

pls no IRL, no for an official tournament. You're just gonna have a ton of people entering tryhard stuff that barely counts as IRL, someone at some point will get salty that their bot wasn't allowed but another one was, etc. Leave IRL tournaments to the people passionate about IRL (Rob).

n00b question, why do none of the bots (particularly spinners) use internal combustion engines for weapons rather than electric motors? Have electric motors gottrn to the point where they are more powerful at that weight? Or is it just the fear of overturning when flipped? Prohibited in the rules?

Can you go over every step of you installing the game, from downloading to the point where it usually crashes? Don't skip on the details.

I just think it's poorly thought out. Like you get rid of half the bots in each heat in the first match and then squeeze as many matches as you can out of the remaining half, and in the process screw over bots who are matched vs spinners first. I wouldn't be surprised to see someone in
just driving into the pit or pretending they're dead from the start to avoid getting rekt by the spinner.

Can you share you laptop's specs as well? I'm like 99% sure at this point that you're messing something up because RA2 just flat out not working is very rare, and for it to happen on both PCs you own kinda points to you being the issue rather than your computers. Which is a good thing, actually, it means we should be able to fix the issue.

Well sounds like you're out of luck, to be honest. RA2 isn't too happy with AMD CPUs and looks like you have an APU there which RA2 probably really doesn't like. If you have access to another PC, like a laptop or something, then you can try to play on that. RA2 has extremely low system requirements so you should be fine running it on any PC you can find.

One last thing I can think of for you to try is to edit ra2.cfg (you can open it with notepad), in the installation folder. Change:
3DHardware=0
Fullscreen=1
GfxDetail=0
GraphicDetail=0

I'm assuming you've already tried deleting your RA2 folder, redownloading DSL from HERE, extracting it and running it that way. What program and you using to extract the folder?

Guess not. And I bet it doesn't like nVIDIA either. And yes, I have tried and redownloaded it with no success. And it was with WinRAR, too.
It's fine with nVidia, Intel and most AMD CPUs as well. If I had to guess it's probably due to you having an APU instead of a CPU/GPU. If the game works on 95% of our PCs, it's not the game's fault mate. Besides, AMD CPUs are pretty garbage these days, and APUs are just as bad.

It's unfortunate that you have the hardware config you do, but you really can't expect 13 year old game that wasn't a big release when it came out to work with every modern hardware setup, especially when it's as weird as an APU. Do you have access to any other PCs or laptops?

Yeah. But, I can't afford to build myself a mega-powerful PC due to insufficient funds at this time. And yes, I do have a laptop as a second PC, which I rarely use, mainly because its not designed for high-end gaming and whatnot as opposed to my current one.
Yeah the game will almost certainly work on your laptop. You can hook your keyboard/mouse up and it should be fine. Let us know if you can get it working on the laptop.
