Got to the very end of this game way back in the day. I'd call it decent at best.

I'd replace the vertical ramplates on your vertical spinner with plows and bring the back wheels in more.

I really like the popup. Very clean.

Ah, cool, this is a nice reception. Before I do any post akin to signups, I'll let us agree on the gimmick/rules. For a little bit of freedom in deck choice but not to deter anyone like eco, perhaps we could go for a 'nowhere close to the meta' tournament, in which, not only can you not pick from the meta but, for sportsmanship, you musn't pick DDD's, Water (Mermails), Qlis, etc.

If no one raises any objections to this suggestion, I'll make the next post I make the signups post.

I prefer to run non-meta decks anyway (unless you count skull servants 'meta' :V)

I'm not sure people want lifting arms. Never heard them mentioned here.

Everyone wants /more/ lifters quickly become flippers or launchers, or something like that.  It all boils down to how they do motor shafts and pistons, if those are finicky like RA2 you're in trouble, if they apply forces correctly we can do whatever.

What will be interesting for me is where the balance ends up, Like ive said if we come up with scales for everything (motor power to battery usage, armor HP to weapon hp, traction VS wheel weight or diameter ect. ect. ect.) and slightly move those around every few tourneys, (probably via simple scripts) we could have a very interesting metagame that will keep folks engaged and playing/experimenting instead of coming up with one apex design and sticking with it.

B- *mumbles a famous robot with lifting arm under his breath*

you mean HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION

Ballasts can't be placed on extenders, just use a heavy object (eg sledgehammers).

They can be if you edit the gmf... ;)

The full stream of today's event is now on Youtube, for those of you who want to watch it. It's been cut into 15 minute segments (thanks twitch!) so you don't need to slog through a 3-hour video.

Very sorry to hear about your cat, man. I actually did something similar to honor a deceased cat, which eventually got renamed into Final Z.

With teams arriving in California now and filming being next week, I figured I'd make a large post consisting of all the big news of the season.

-Witch Doctor now has a srimech
-Overhaul's Team JACD has split into four teams: Charles is taking over Overhaul, while the other three are competing with Brutus, Road Rash and SawBlaze.
-OverDrive is now a vertical spinner
-Chomp now has a hammer using parts from The Judge, plus it is now being driven autonomously
-Wrecks can self-right
-Nightmare supposedly also has a srimech
-Warhead has been rebuilt
-Tentomushi and Son of Whyachi are making long-awaited returns to the series, with the latter also having a flame-spitting drone
-Moebius is returning, but may be unable to compete due to UPS screwing them over
-MikeNCR and SKBT are both on teams for BattleBots this year: Mike with Bombshell, and SKBT with Mecha SubZero
-Techno Destructo is returning under the name Ultimo Destructo
-The team behind Atomic Wedgie is competing with HellaChopper
-Beta is there and should not have any issues competing this time
-Megabyte is competing under the name Invader
-Half of the team that built Wrecks last year has split and is building a new robot named Skorpios
-Splatter, which was a reserve last season, is now a full-time competitor
-Ray Scully, the man behind Abbatoir, is back with Clockwork L'Orange
-Ian Watts is returning once again, this time with a 5-part clusterbot namd Creepy Crawlies
-Team Storm is competing with a new robot named Photon Storm and are being assisted by Team Tornado and Team Chronic
-Team RioBotz is there with Minotaur
-A group of Australian roboteers will be competing with Death Roll
-Team Infernolab has scaled up one of their old robots, The Disk O' Inferno
-The Obwalden Overlord, a mysterious humanoid robot, also be appearing

And that's not even mentioning Bite Force, Tombstone, Bronco, or a couple of the more exciting newcomer robots like The Ringmaster. This is going to be one helluva tournament.
