The hammer is really cool, do you have any weight to develop the wheelguards?

The hammer looks pretty cool, but that mace is a total waste of weight. Remove it and use the weight for longer wedges or an extra razor.

For the VS, you can just offset the anchor and just use extenders, or use 2 anchors like VB suggested. And that T connector that's holding the ramplates is gonna die so fast.

Overall I think you need to focus on poor extender work. Your bots are solid but you're using too many T connectors and wasting a lot of weight on unnecessary stuff.

- still REEEEEing about IRL

Quote from: Badger
whoever is voting for IRL should sincerely end their lives. There's been like 37 IRL tournaments recently and no IF or DSL-S, what is your problem actually.

being salty about irl is so out of fashion right now.

4x single TWMRs for drive, 4 mediums VDMAs for weaponry. Everything on the front wedge is steel, everything behind is alu. 790-something kgs. Slow but tanky and flips things for miles.
That thing looks BEASTLY.
Check the light vs dark sbv

No protection for the ant batt in the top one makes it doubt its IRL-ness

boi someone is still salty.
So apparently balancing out flippers so that they're not overpowered is equivalent to me being salty...

all right then (also i mentioned my own robot because I know you're not the only one guilty of this lul)
I thought you were just being salty about muh 3 bursts, rather than trying to balance flippers. I agree, flippers are retarded broken in DSL, not only in IRL.

But it's not a great method of balancing, because 2 long VDMAs are literally more powerful than the 3 mediums I used on Paladin, for similar weight (I can't remember if they're heavier/lighter in total).

A better method of balancing would be having a maximum total weight spent on bursts per weight class.

So about the captain's choice: if they choose their order list of robots that they want to fight, doesn't that just mean it's blind luck on what robot match-ups happen with no way to switch strategies? If you did something where each round the captains choose 2/1 robots that they want to send to fight, it would add a little bit more strategy.

Also, doing a sort of draft system where each captain picked a robot from the line up in turn might be cool and prevent unbalanced (nobody on team dark has wedges ffs why) teams.
Implying it wasn't random luck anyway. And drafting is a retarded idea, the entire point is that you choose your team, and can theme your bot to match your team.

I like the angled spinner, can you shave off some weight somewhere to get large typhoon teeth? And does the bar intersect the wheels?

Discussion / Re: TGM's powered burst pack in discussion
« on: March 22, 2017, 01:22:45 PM »
people are just going to put the same amount of bursts in but now flippers would be 3 times stronger
I'm not sure if a LW launching its opponent to the ceiling consistently is what this game needs

if you're building irl then it's not really designed around efficiency in the first place
Not entirely true, after a certain point extra flipping power is basically worthless compared to better drive and armour. I get your point though.

Kix, if you want this to be balanced you'll need to make the bursts 3x heavier as well as 3x stronger. And I don't think anyone is going to use custom components for basically anything, especially tournaments. The only reason that DSC's component pack caught on is because it's just a reskin with no stat changes.
