I agree, but they were also complete crashbombs, being half small angle pieces. The new ones are *much* nicer on hosts, better at protecting the wheels and a decent chunk lighter. I thought it was a trade-off worth making. Panels would probably be a nicer solution but I'm sh** with the and I'm not particularly hyped to learn.
So I downloaded DSL 2.2 Complete Edition from the DSL 2.2 mods section and it crashes. It doesnt seem to happen at any specific time. The first time I selected exhibition and was choosing robots and it crashed. The second time it crashed before the title even came up. What can I do?
This is a 16 year old game. You just gotta deal with it.
Only in battles. If it's consistently crashing in menus, there's probably an issue
Sometimes it helps to redownload the game. But it’s still gonna crash a lot ngl
Unless you messed up an install, this won't help
RA2 really doesn't like you alt-tabbing, so try to avoid that. Otherwise, run the game in fullscreen in Windows XP Service Pack 2 Compatibility mode to minimise crashing as much as you can. If the game crashes every single time you select or start a match with a specific bot, or if you try to select a specific item in the botlab, then you have an issue with your install. If it's just random, there's not much you can do aside from the above tips.
That is dope man. The only thing I'd say kinda irks me is the hammer is kinda clipping the shock absorber thing in the back tail. Everything else looks pretty neat.
Just cause Orc uses it doesn't mean the rule isn't dumb. I'm flattered that people still have Paladin PTSD, but the meta has moved on and gutripper VS would dump on it.
I might actually make something for this, we'll see. Looking forward to it!
IMO CW is a boring weightclass. HW would be cool, or 1000kg if you want to be different. The burst restrictions are ridiculously strict, IMO you don't need to restrict them at all (a common sense approach suffices I think). Good luck doing anything with a single beta. While we're talking about limiting stuff, I think VS and possibly rings should have lower weapon limits than everything else, to promote other bot types.
I really like it, especially how you did the front section. HS with actual drive motors instead of weapon spam is also always nice to see. Really good job my dude, it's a lovely build. If you end up AI-ing it, I would recommend some variant of Rammer instead of Omni, as you have strong drive. If you use Omni, it will chase the other bot down and you'll never get a chance to actually spin up your weapon.
Side note, this is quickly becoming my favourite showcase thread on the site (not that there are thousands to choose from anymore or anything, sadly)
