Look at this picture of Locust, the motors kinda stick out and they look like mag's. Yeah i like that idea of the swarm and Breaker box, and we could put Pipedream or Whirligig as the last bot.

Those extenders have no effect on the turning. It must be something internal.

To understand the team names better, I made a Word Document, attached below. If you have Word 2003 or 2007, then it will work. If not, then PM me and I will send you a Notepad version.
