I know 45's alot, but that would equal 15 teams of three, just enough to make a full Team HQ tournament.

the matador, Wedge of Doom, Techno Destructo, El diablo and complete control are in 1.3. But El Diablo and complete control are in robot designs. You could probably take the battlebot bots from dsl and put them in this new one.

Thanks for crushing my dreams of a new Battlebots AI Pack. I would have really liked to play against them.

I didn't say that I would make them.

Maybe, if I got really really REALLY lucky, someone really really REALLY good like Starcore could make them for me, or at least someone who would be generous enough to take the time to make them.

You do know that like a crapload of those are in either DSL or AUBB, right? And I am not trying to crush your dreams. I am just trying to bring back to earth a kid who came to GTM with his head in the clouds thinking that he will get all of his replica wishes granted. It doesn't work that way here. You're welcome to stay and I don't want you to leave, but you don't know how many kids have posted a list in the DSL 3.0 Preview of 45 bots saying "hey click make these for me plz" and leave when we tell them no. It gets pretty annoying.

PS: I can't help anyways. I have no mod sklz.

what you must understand is these things cannot be smashed out in 10mins they take hours and hours of work.

custom components are needed to construct many replica robots... this is a painfully difficult task to do to make all the parts required... dont believe me ? read this..

before people jump on the 3DSM banwagon I will say from personal experience its not just a component generator.. you still need to write in GMF coding, text files, collisions, etc... its ok once you get your head around it but its still very time consuming (serge took out one and a half hours of his time to direct me step be step for an unmapped component)

in a perfect world it would be lovly to have all of these but unless you group together with others and build them out of existing parts like the RWS3 Mod its not likely to get very far quickly.

@Sonny_Resetti- Then start believing it. Since I want to see this happen, not only will I help, but I will make the bots myself. I need someone to AI, and a couple people to make custom components, and maybe, if they are willing to do so, someone to help me with making the bots. But if I have custom components, I'll make the bots the rest of the way by myself.

I'm making the replicas, except maybe I will use a few ready-made bots from DSL 2.1 like Ronin, Biohazard, Vlad the Impaler, Overkill, and such.

It probably is but i think there is some copyright thing that says if something is inactive it can be taken. Though just stay safe side name it something like DSL Battlebots AI pack or just Battlebots AI pack. But you'd still probably have to say something in the credits for the original creators. 

Also on the subject of improving the robots and more realistic I might give the robots better armor than the stock armor and make the weapons less powerful i.e center punch weapon, mauler weapon, atomic wedgie saw etc. Since i don't recall those weapons being that destructive.

Codebreaker: I think the shape could be better, the drum i believe is longer and shorter.

I think it shouldn't only be in DSL. While the main usage of parts should be from DSL we should include the "working parts" in the AU BB and if necessary, custom parts.

I combined The bots from the Au battlebots pack and put them into DSL, AI'ed, along with the components in the BB pack. Theres blank spaces where the Robot wars replicas where because this isn't a BB and Rw pack.

Haven't noticed any problems with it. Only complaint would be the armor on the AU replicas is still stock grade instead of DSL grade and also some of the AU weapons seem unbalanced compared to the DSL weapons.

I redid the Codebreaker skin. It is saved as a PNG because the GTM uploader won't let me use BMPs anymore.

Second of all, HOW DID YOU GET TO THE OLD BATTLEBOTS SITE?!?!?!? I HAVE WANTED TO GO THERE FOR 7 YEARS!!!!!!!!! I have a printed document from Meet The Robots, including Traxx, Turtle, Twin Paradox, T-Wrex, and others, but that's about all I have from the real site. Alright, the voting is finally over!  :bigsmile:

Attached are two lists and a compressed folder.

The first list is the bots that need to be made for the Bots From The Battlebox AI Pack.

The second list is the names of the teams that the bots will go in, with their team numbers (i..e..Team0, Team1,...) to the left.

The folder contains the team logos and the Colorblind Arena. I need someone to change this so that it DOES NOT overwrite the RFSHQT Arena.


One more thing I just am curious about, what happened that moved my reputation down to -1?

No offence but those kinda look like the real bots but they don't. If we do some component re balancing and replica editing they could be good at fighting. Take biohazard for example BFE in NPC's reskin the arm and tweak the burst motor text files and you got a good replica.

UI looks kinda cool

you need to either feather the edges of the robot images or use a better cuting method (photoshop has many) I assume its just the magic wand tool ? that why you have the rough outside around images.

That's actually the blades shape, he just re skinned it.
When they made the blade they did some hackery on the edges to make them ghosted.

How did you make the square blade for Blood Moon?

open the normal disc skin with a program that doesn't support transparent tga files then save.

the stock disc and saw blades actually have square faces, all they did was skin a round face with transparent corners, you can make the disc look like any shape you wish by skinning the square face

How did you make the square blade for Blood Moon?

open the normal disc skin with a program that doesn't support transparent tga files then save.

the stock disc and saw blades actually have square faces, all they did was skin a round face with transparent corners, you can make the disc look like any shape you wish by skinning the square face
If you use the widest DSL bar with the smallest length, it is somewhat the shape of a square.
 
Oh, and I could send a few of my old replicas if you want. Plus I might make some new ones.

Created axle motors for Scrapdaddy, brought Biohazard up to the weight limit and added 6 wheel drive like the real one. (I'm playing with TXT files to get a better more realistic "flip") I also re-skinned The Crusher.

I've been working on components. So far:

i tried working on Ringmaster but couldn't the treads to go through the disc, so i tried mud tires and they wouldn't go through here is hat i have so far.

If I kick my self enough to figure out how to skin those shell pannels and disks I will have them for you at the end of the week. I can't find a bmp file in the GMF or in any folder for them. How do I skin them? I also noticed this with the DSL bars.

 Also I might make the pannels weapons so you don't need beater bars.

learn hex colours (or cheat here http://html-color-codes.com/ (http://html-color-codes.com/)) and skin within the GMF with them

I have made a set of the hollow disc's and solid discs with a chrome skin, I havent the shell panels though.

here is some good info for GMF skinning... its good to mix codes to get different colours

You guys can use the AUBB Bots. Klitchka visited a long time ago and said we could. He worked on them so thats good enough for me. And nobody can sue or anything. We aren't making money off of the bots. And there is no way they could find out. And they would probably just be happy to see the bots again after so many years.

I was under the impression that this was a reballance of the AU AI and new replicas that weren't in the AU AI.  No offense to any of you guys but the AU replicas are better than anything you could make. Simply because they have custom parts made for the purpose of replica. For example my Hammertime replica posted a couple of pages back uses custom made wheels (reskinned taz wheels with better grip) custom burst motor ( Skirt hindge GMF with 250 250 power) and fights decently for a replica. If the AU replica parts are reballanced for DSL the reps would be awsome because they would look like the real bots and have decent fighting ability. Why revient the wheel and make new replicas when we have working ones with custom components that just need reballancing.

Just my two cents.

I'd honestly go with a plow and go from there if you are making Breaker Box. The behemoth scoop seems too small to me another option would be a re-skinned dark scoop.

Sparkey is actually right. Your bot's chassis is proportionally wrong. Breaker Box is wider horizontally than it is vertically.

From the picture it looks like the batteries are wired in 2 banks of 3 batteries creating 220 amps at 48 volts for each bank.  So the batteries at 36volts and 220 amps isn't enough for the E-tek and drive there is a second set of batteries creating a 48 volt 440 amp system. Assuming they are running C40 Magmotors in it you are looking at about 120 amps to drive the bot.

I know a battlebots competitor (the guy who built Hammertime) and he said the screws were worthless.

I could use those Colson wheels for Jo Mama. Never liked the color of the Mini wheels anyways and the colsons look to be the right color.

You will need to set the miniwheel TXT file values in the Colson if you want that to be legal and because of lazyness right now it overides the NAR AI grey mini wheel. :P Also I inclueded the Drill Motor.

Your boxbots did not fight at a battlebots sanctioned tourney so they don't qualify to be in this AI pack if you want to make a boxbot AI pack I think that might be fun.

Nope because C87 decided that mine was a much better replica and went ahead and built a Whirligig (I didn't know he had built a Jo Mama, I figured nobody had ever heard of it). And consequentially, S.T.C. built a Herr Gepounden better than mine, which I couldn't make combat-effective because it wasn't stable, so I looked on the list on Robotmarketplace.com and found Jo Mama, and built it, and then posted it, and then C87 decided decided that mine was a much better replica and...

ME and freeziez are working on the Swarm, i'm making Locust, Pipedream, and Whirligig. (I know Pipedream and Whirligig aren't from the Swarm, but we needed to fill the bot slots)

I don't know whats wrong, but when i skinned the flipper segments, they didn't change to what i skinned them to. Also the angle connectors and beater bars returned to their normal skin's even though the map says they are black. Also his drive, when he goes forward he turns to the left and when he goes backwards he goes to the right. Can anyone help me with these problems.

The front stabilizers are dragging his wheels a different way. Put wheels on axles on the end of the stabilizers.

Sometimes bots don't drive straight.

Also use those Axel mount motors I gave you for breakerbox it will look better than mags sticking out like that.

Also for team names why don't you just name it team nightmare and stick breakerbox nightmare and backlash in the slots?

Look at this picture of Locust, the motors kinda stick out and they look like mag's. Yeah i like that idea of the swarm and Breaker box, and we could put Pipedream or Whirligig as the last bot.

you don't adjust the weight with BFE but the class, so you can have an overweight robot in MW (Infogames did this exact thing for some stock AI robots) I can do it NP for anyone that needs it otherwise there is SKBT's idea of making duplicate parts.

When I AI everything, ballance the Ace Uplink replica parts, place the replicas in teams, upgrade the armor on the Ace Uplink replicas, and finish the UI we could release a beta.

If anyone wants to help ballance the Ace Uplink parts feel free to do so and send em to me when you do. I want them ballanced to DSL with accurite hitpoints.

I'm going to have veto all of those teams because I've got about 1/2 of the bots AI'd and in teams and I am NOT playing let's shuffle the bindings to different teams again. Although I might use some of the names. Anyways I was going with 6 bots per team.

As a side note: I'm still kinda working on this. I haven't had much time since winter break mostly due to the FIRST build season and schoolwork coming first.

I'm not workig on it right now but one of these days I'll finish rebalancing all the AU parts and switching all the bots to a respectable armor level and finish AIing everything...

It might happen over the summer if I don't get caught up in some other project IRL such as building another robot something...

When is this comming out?

I'm doing stuff on this when I can and I have something called a life, which is very very busy right now so this isnt being worked on much.


What is it?

It's a DSL mod including re-balanced Ace Uplink replicas dsl replicas with some tweaks or complete rebuilds.


Can I help?

Maybe? What are your skills? Can you skin, AI build accurate and detailed replicas, or rebalance parts? If so send me a PM with your work or how you want to help.

I've done a bit with bots and fixing the AU replicas and pulled a Joe and started to redo the ui. :P

I haven't done anything since early summer though.

It will come out after backlash and or DSL 3.

While I dont agree with short sharp responses to other members.. you know you were asking for it right?

I know first hand those types of questions are among the most annoying thing you could hear.. especially if pressured..

Basically (this is for everyone) think of it a little more logically, if there was updates or releases.. dont you think they would have been posted?  I mean someones not going to start a mods thread then never show or release the mod they completed are they?

When updates are posted, there is updates  ;)

Though my building's aren't good (at all), I'll do some of the AI'ing (since I really like to AI, and so I can save some of your guys time). And, if you need some art (from Paint.net (NOT MS)), I can try my best! I wonder if anyone else could join...
