Basic Rules-We will use DSL
2.1 with DSL-S (Standard) ruleset. Detailed ruleset :
https://gametechmods.com/forums/discussion/dsl-standard-ruleset-discussion/-Weight class : Middleweights (though see the later weight allowance rules)
-You have to team up with someone else to build a pair of MW's and enter them together - that means two people will eventually win the tournament together.
-Entry Number TBD
-BBEANS 2 tournament arena.
-Deadline for signups and robot updates is the
12th of July. (You can still send me AI bindings later on, as long as the tournament didn't start.)
Building rules :-All building must be done in the bot lab. That means no BFE. No trov glitch either. All components must be attached legally. You can use BFE for custom armor shines, but otherwise it is strictly forbidden.
-All components must be vanilla DSL2. Cheatbot2 is not allowed (including the old stock components, of course). Unfortunately, that also means reskins of existing components are also not allowed : I might allow those in a latter tournament.
-Obviously, each player must build it's own bot. That doesn't mean you can't enter old bots of yours, as long as they are legal.
-Both bots must of course be MW's. (Exception : the latter weight allowance rules.)
-I will run quality controls - if your bot is lacking, I can and will give you advice, but I reserve the right to refuse entries based on quality.
-TRFBD's, flail rams and crawlers are banned. All bots must show controlled movement. All bots relying on glitches are banned (no rupting, no nasty pickles, etc.)
-Each bot in a team can get a 15kg weight allowance over 400kg for either having a functional flamethrower or being a hybrid (having two different weapon systems). I will judge what a "hybrid" is - and I reserve the right to refuse an entry if I find it to be breaking the spirit of this rule. Both allowances do not stack.
Brackets and Fight Rules-Classic elimination tournament bracket with BO3 fights. If we happen to have 24 players, then the third three rounds will be classic elimination, then the three remaining teams will fight with each other in BO3 format and the team with the most wins will be the finalist.
-Each robot in a team gets one free havok restart per fight. All havoks that do NOT obviously change the outcome of a match will be kept. I reserve the right to disqualify a robot that causes too much havok explosions - this will also disqualify the teammate, so be careful of how much your robot breaks physics ! If a match-changing havok cannot be attributed to a certain bot, then I will just restart the match.
-Controlled movement rule : A bot that consistently shows a lack of controlled movement by itself and lack of tracking the opponent under normal circumstances will be also disqualified. Of course, this does not prevent VS's or HS's from bouncing around the arena when hit or flipped or such, or a bot from not competing after losing a wheel. It simply is a rule against abusing mauler dances.
Awards-We'll have and vote for standard community awards :
