That predator replica is epic.

Thanks.  It took me hours to build, nice to see it still getting recognition.

You know I'm all over this. If we're building HW reps, I'm entering!

I'm planning a Sir Forcealot replica for the moment, but I might look to some other options as well.

Count me in :)
Dunno what I am entering yet, but im sure that i'll sort something out :P
-Wham
EDIT: Can we make reskinned components as in new components? (eg. reskinned ramplate) as i think that might be a bit easier for me and some others, as well as meaning that 2 robots dont have the same skinned maps from the ramplate.
Is this allowed? :P
Of course the text files wouldnt have the damage properties ect. messed with only the name, preview and description and maybe styles if needed.
Damn I should probably put something fancy in this bit huh?

Hope you don't mind me putting it in. I just thought that it shows how good the reps can be made.

@Wham - reskinned components are allowed, just try not to use to many.

Ok, also just to check:
I know the rules said no AI motors or bursts, but if one of the rules states bots must be realistic, surely the Judge Burst motor must be allowed for flippers?
Also, by AI components allowed, would i be allowed to use say, Chaos 2's flipper ;)

I'll give it a go.  Sump Thing

Of course I don't mind people using pics of my replicas for that.  I'm flattered that my bot gets to be your headliner.  I'll probably enter this (surprising, I know)

I'm trying to decide between sending Sump Thing, or building a new robot from scratch.

Is it ok if I can't bulk-up Sumpthing to a heavyweight?  I've got almost no extra room in there.

Sonny, you think it'd be possible for me to do a Sir Force A Lot replica?

Oh yes, definitely.  For the weapon motor, use a perm-80 (that's the smaller of the two perms), but mount it slightly off-centre.  Then alternate attaching hex-slaves and extenders to the motor.  If you're looking front-on at the robot, then branching from the motor to the left should go extender-hex-extender-hex.   Branching to the right should go hex-extender-hex-extender-hex.

Put three teeth on each hexplate; I'm not sure what the best kind of tooth to use here is, I'll leave that up to you to decide.  You'll probablyt have to make it taller than the original to prevent the teeth from scraping the ground, but I think it'll be a decent tradeoff.

The rules say that AI motors and bursts ARE allowed.

And most AI components are allowed. You will have to PM me to tell me what parts you want to use, and I'll tell you which are OK and which aren't.

Thanks Sonny. My only concern is the durability of the hex plates-from what I saw in Killerhurtz' battle against Mauler in your Pokemon tourney, its axe broke off after one hit. But still, it should be decent enough anyway if I can mount the teeth correctly.
Maybe I'll try black-skinned ones at some point.

personally when people make replicas already in DSL using replica parts from DSL they have no appeal to me what so ever... its kinda taking the skill out of it as the parts are already made for you.

The only custom comp used is the chaos 2 flipper, but tbh it does look slightly wrong :/
May have a go with ramplates, extenders and something else :D
Anyway, me and resseti where talking last night and we was wondering if we can enter all the events or if we have to enter 1?
EDIT: As promissed, here is my Chaos 2 replica using 2 reskinned ramplates, extenders and skirt pannels, also along with my Cerberus replica who is also using 2 reskinned ramplates.

They are sort of custom components.
The only thing that has changed is the map, and name, gmf, preview and directory settings in the .txt file and adding the "hidden = 2" line so that it keeps everything tidy :P
Would i be able to enter these?
Im quite keen on entering Chaos 2, but dont mind entering Cerb, seeing at how both have never been entered into a replica tourney before (i think! :S) and are by far 2 of my favs i've made so far :3

Use Cerberus if you want authenticity.

Use Chaos if you want a good flipper. Only problem is, it just looks... Odd.
