Garvin just didn't bother trying at all.
Hence the whole thing about me getting the place if I can beat him in a match  :3

Gravin's bot don't suck that bad in combat.  Why do people keep assuming it does?

It looks terrible sure, but what's unrealistic about it?  It's a box with spikes and wheels sticking out.  I assume it wouldn't even be that hard to build in real life.

Yeah, there's no rules against it really...
Better than GK since 2009.
I think SM is a pretty cool guy, eh builds unicycle-bots and doesn't afraid of anything

It looks too hideous for anyone to actually spend money to build it in real life.

I was considering suggesting a Battlebots tourney like this one.  In my opinion as many entries as possible could be accepted, but only 16 would be voted in via poll based on their realistic appearance.

I guess this should be kept in mind for the next IRL tourney

IDEA GET

Garvin vs. GF93 for that spot! :D

What?! You give Garvin the spot, and then twist right around and stab him in the back? I know his bot looks terrible, but as the tournament host you gave him the spot, and you accepted his entry. You shouldn't be allowed to just throw in a random Wildcard match just because Garvin's bot is unpopular.
Any comments would be appreciated. :D

I somewhat agree with Urjak. He got a spot fair but hopefully that bot will not win.

Agree.  Nothing in the rules suggest the bot must look good, and I can't conceive what realism is suppose to mean if a box with 2 wheels and some poles are consider impossible in real life.

I know some of you might feel cheated.  But to me the 2 shell spinners are trying much harder to win than this box with poles.  They are clearly not build for aesthetics, innovations, or simulations.  They are build because shell are known top tier on DSL.

That said, even if the wildcard match did happen, I got a feeling that GF93 will lose anyway.

Not necessarily- you haven't even seen my robot, so why judge me on that?

Wow, some pointers...
1. Quality of the first match was bad, at least take the time for us to get the full match (Sounds cheesy but that is why we like Battlebots over some robot inspired docu-drama)
2. Saw Havoks (Can't really point that out but it should if they are going to end matches badly and you end up publishing those matches)

OK guys, listen, I can't please you all. If I let Garvin continue the tournament, half of you will be upset, and if I disqualify him, the other half of you will be mad.

Honestly, I didn't see anything unrealistic about Garvin's bot, so I won't disqualify him. I'm sorry to anyone who finds this unsportsmanlike.

1. What do you mean?
2. Yes, but I am crunched on time and since none of the havoks actually affected the outcome of the match too much, I let it go,

What Recorder do you use?

Fraps. I know it's laggy, but I can't get anything else (I'm only 13 :P).
