  • Chassis size can be smaller.
  • Use slipperbottoms in place of the slims. The give exactly the same stats and are not as heavy.
  • Use Irons instead of blades.
  • Use Shinies in place of the micro wheels.
  • Replace the 90 degree connectoors with round extenders, using the side attachment point.
  • Don't post in all caps. It is fine to experiment with designs, but do it one at a time so you don't get confused. Read the link you have been given several times to learn basic techniques and don't post another bot after this.
My above post explains everything about everything.

Again, just because it's a prototype doesn't mean they should be crappy. From your point of view you would be attaching a saw just because it's a prototype, and you'll change them to a disc with razors. That's a bad idea. Discs with razors and irons have different sizes (which is quite important on VSes), changing from one weapon to another can ruin the whole bot. Just because 90-degree anglers are easier to use doesn't mean that you should use them instead of round extenders. Extenders have different attachment point positions so even a slight shift in position could make the chassis vulnerable.

In short, you still need to spend time on prototypes. Concentrating on the prototype could help you determine which aspect still needs to be updated instead of just fixing the whole thing (that will give you a bigger headache).

OK, so back to your showcase. VSes don't tend to be invertible. Instead, they usually self-right. You can do that by using a tribar or a disc with long weapons (like irons), and having a short chassis (a shorter chassis means self-righting quicker and easier). And in stock, realism doesn't matter, so you can have a bunch of weapons and components passing through the battery, the motors, everything. If you're desperate, just use grannies, but that's the farthest you can go. If you really need it to self-right, add some effort by using burst motors (and you can add wedges to them, which can be found in most bots). Just read the link from the BeetleBros site and try replicating one of the sample bots in there (try that HW rammer with tons of irons in front, for example) and you can add your own twist to it (just make sure it benefits the bot).

Don't use ballasts. Never. EVER.

And i don't want to listen to that ballast wedge BS. There are other and better ways to put more weight on the wedges.

Like putting a ramplate on the front? Castors work too, but they block the wedge a bit. What other ways are you thinking of?

A bot with no wheels is not a good bot. Unless it's Bumble Bee <3

Use shinies or grannies, flatten the bot a bit and put a snapper wedge in there. Also, BUILD TO THE WEIGHT LIMIT!

I have nothing wrong with prototypes, but try to make em good. Start out with a plan. Don't throw stuff in a random chassis.

If you don't, you will be building stuff like this:

Instead of this:

Don't get he wrong idea that I'm trying to squash creativity- but really, defeating Eye Stabber isn't really that great.
Even though you say you did, read my link again. Really pay attention. You will get a lot better, I promise.
