really I wouldn't use anything from a toy to build a robot. Just scrap it and start fresh. I'm assuming you live in the UK, so I'd assume a 150g ant wedge probably won't be that expensive if you find materials yourself. Ask Plaz.

You're going to have a bad time if you're trying to do this using the transmitter and receiver from a toy. Ants are cheap but there's always costs to starting up.

Yeah, I'm on Sheppey if you know where that is. For ants there is a cost to build even the cheapest thing, you can build one for about £60 including radio.
Add me on skype since it's easier to talk on there and I can get you in contact with Haz so you have multiple sources for any help you may need.

I'm not gonna enter it in any antweight tournaments, only fun side events in Robot wars live to get free seats  ;)

Ahhh ok, I just wanted to get introduced with robotics and building, I've got a neat controller but I just need motors, batteries, a switch, a light and wheels.

This is what I'm on about:

I can't find a receiver to match it on Hobbyking and if I do find a receiver; will the wiring match up with the other parts on Hobbyking? Or does it not matter what 2.4 GHz receiver I have

When I got the antweight kit and started to fiddle around with the bot (since it didn't work) it broke
