Wait, you bought servos but don't know how to make them do stuff?
I got servos before on a kit and I thought they turned clockwise and counter clockwise, I didn't know about the fact that all of them turn less than 180 degrees

Thanks, I've found a quicker way however; apparently you can cut the cogs, it's a lot less fiddly but it requires good cutting tools

Careful with that method above, with out an ESC the servo wont move on its own.

The one Nate linked too, doing that method will allow more voltage than usual, but will pull the electronics out of the servo, if you don't have a stand alone ESC then you will not be able to use the servo.
Or, to simplify it, the above method will make the servo into a gear motor.

For a beginning bot; I will try servo drive then maybe adapt it into a gear motor for speed, this is my first bot so I want it basic.

Kk cheers, I think I've found a better deal on ebay, £4.75 for an 8 inch by 8 inch sheet? Hell yeh!

Anyway, I've drawn up some plans:

Anybody Like them?
Or are there improvements you can see?

I suggest that if you want fiber glass, get Garolite. This stuff is really nice, and pretty cheap to get and easy to find. Look, here's some here: http://www.fingertechrobotics.com/proddetail.php?prod=garolite

Beware of what alloy it is, some alloys are strong but most you'll find would be better suited as card stock.
The good alloys are 6063, 5052, 2024, and 7075, all of them are strong and light weight, though latter ones are much stronger than the former ones.
