Waste of weight.
Not if used for practical reasons, though- static spikes on the sides could prevent immobilisation by flipping on the side, much like those plastic ones Chaos 2 had.

Ah, OK. Judging by its wide, flat sides, I figured it would've needed something like those.

Sounds like a plan. Anyway, I'll take you through my ideas. The idea is to build a HW Robot around one of these-
http://www.robotmarketplace.com/products/MAG-BKT220.html
4-wheel drive Heavyweight bases, from Team Nightmare.

From there, I plan to build a box-wedge shaped design, its top being predominantly made out of industrial-grade Perspex(for weight, good degree of protection, and to simultaneously showcase the inside mechanics, thereby impressing audience members and making the prospect of engineering cool to them again, just like how the original RW did), with a bulletproof drivetrain and a lower frame made out of a lightweight, but tough metal.

From there, I plan to give it two weapons- the first being an electric-driven axe (with its own seperate power source) with a heavy bladed tip (theoratically capable of striking three times a second, and causing actual damage to opposition), and next to it, a flipping arm driven by low-pressure CO2, capable of self-righting the robot if flipped, and lifting good degrees of weight.
With this, even though not being as powerful as a standard high-pressure system, it should be capable of utilising more lifts, whilst still maintaining strong enough power to throw opponents around...possibly out of the arena itself!

almost 1000 Dollar? :O
I want to build a bot too. Somehow the design I used on Cannibal. But this is so extreme expensive. might just build a raptor version of it.

That's about £600 in UK money.

Suppose you have a point- although admittedly, the idea of having a bulletproof drivetrain and high-powered 4-wheel drive appealed to me.

OK then...so I'll just need to scrape together some funds, and hopefully I can begin- is an electric-powered axe a good idea, though?

FYI, the battlekits are actually from the Biohazard team, they just sell through the RMP.

That's alright to here- I mainly based the idea of one, along with a bladed tip that could do actual damage on Mortis, one of the old greats.

And Mike...what do you think of the kits?
