I don't get the point of the self-righters. Just put something, decoration or spikes, long enough out from the sides so that every time it lands on its side, its can't stay and has to fall back on its wheels.

Take hole

Take spike

Put spike IN HOLE

no need to drill new hole

Well, your self-righters are going to be quite complicated and heavy, but it's going to be original, at least. Which other robot on the circuit has self-righting side arms?

Those flipper hinges seem disturbingly thin, and like NFX said, that srimech idea of yours seem rather heavy, perhaps you should stick to static spikes instead.

well the hinges seem strong enough to me, it can support the whole robot and me, if i stand it upside down and lean on it, they are as big as my fist, so they are quite big.
im going to use the self righting arms because chances are i wont be aloud a weapon on it

I think you should go for the self-righting arms. They'd be something different instead of the usual powerful flipper.

for sale:
antweight robot
the drive on this is two speed hacked micro servos, they do about 1.5m per second under a 150g load, with grippy lego wheels.
it is armoured in 3 and 1mm polycarbonate with 1.5mm aluminum scoop. it is mostly held together with m1 bolts and m3 screws.
the battery is a 6v and can either be a 120mah or a 210mah cost respectively. it is designed to fit a giant cod 7ch 2.4ghz rx. this is not included, but if anybody wants i can include a tx and rx for an extra cost. it has no weapon but i can add one if needed.
sensible offers only, i would really preffer to hand this over at an event.
thanks.
