Typhoon II Vs. Storm II

Just an experiment. Heres a fight if you have not seen it:

Storm 2 clearly won

Typhoon hardly got any good hits in and spent half the match running away with the spin motor broken...

Storm II should have won and would have won but that fight was 7 (?) years ago so why does it matter? Anyways the match should have ended when the arena was broken because it was a saftey hazard. Scratch that I couldn't find any thing in the Robot Wars 2003 rules about arena breaches or match restarts.

And here, they'd made a massive fanfare of the piece of metal that came off of Storm II, whereas the Typhoon team lied and said that their robot was "Fighting Fit", even after their spinner mechanism broke again and they lost their left-hand drive, even after they were permitted to fix it after they broke the arena.

though in its first rumble and the grand final it ran away due to the weapon breaking

it was on the run from the restart in the grand final, storm 2 was on top the whole time,

and the claimed "skillful dodging" by Typhoon 2 when it hit the edge of the pit and missed the wall.

Yeah.. after watching the Extreme series rerun on Dave it became apparent JP wasn't as aware of what's going on then I remembered.
Guess it is a family show though and a specialist commentator might of had a few problems with phrase clarity or other things; certainly doesn't feel like RW without JP and Craig.

Storm 2 should have clearly won that match.
at the point where Storm 2 rammed Typhoon 2 against the pit release button... well, at that point, you can see something getting from underneath Typhoon 2. after that, it didn't even start spinning again.
"Typhoon 2 can't get up to full spinning speed." JP said. "where did you see it spinning then?" was my thought then.

we all know why Storm 2 should have one but I would like to hear from one of the 5 why they think Typhoon correctly won (like a proper reasoning)

ts obvious the damage on Storm 2 was self inflicted and they made a big deal about it, I mean they never handed one of Hypnodisc's opponents pieces of their robot after a match (probally becasue there was to many to count but still :P)

Storm 2's treatment was disgusting. First the Producers forced the team to put on an active weapon, then they put it in a Heat with 2 feared spinners Shredder and Supernova. Then they tried to disqualify it after its fight with Firestorm, claiming it never used its weapon and supposedly broke the rules. Then they raised the pit back up for Tornado, then they allowed Typhoon 2 to repair its weapon and didnt let the Judges know about this or the dislodged drivechains at the end of the fight.

And If I would be going to be a millionaire when I'm adult. I promise, I PROMISE! That Robot Wars Will be back!

Quoted for truth. And then there's also how the audience were booing so much at the decision that they had to edit cheers in to make Storm II look like the bad guys!

Yeah, it was pretty bad, the boos must have been huge, they're still obvious with the cheers dubbed over.
I'm actually surprised they didn't play on it in a more possitive way, make a proper grudge out of it, have the storm team go on a proper crusade against the typhoon team and the producers, then again i'm starting to make it sound like wrestling 
It's kinda funny how they rigged it for tornado to win, but one season later and they're doing all they can to stop the rammer type bots winning 

And didn't one of the judges say something about regeting giving it to typhoon later?

I don't know...especially when they threw that chain up to the control pods. And it's terrible to realise that the Typhoon team were practically lying to save face and get the money, really. And then at the same time, they had the nerve to make out they were completely undamaged! If I were Gary Cairns (The team captain), I'd be ashamed.
