At least in the UK, the competitors go home with something that vaguely resembles a robot, rather than a bin bag full of scrap. Thus they can return for more battles without having to spend a lot of time and money putting their robot back together.

Great news if true, Jimmy Cameron is a true legend: Terminator (my fave film of all time), Aliens, now robots. Apart from Titanic which was a bit damp and Avatar which looks a bit 'funky'. True Legend.

Hopefully there won't be too many shell spinners and we get to see some properly good robots.

I think both countrys are creative in there own way. US is creative in the efficiency and how effective things are while the UK is creative in the form style and looks and uniqueness.

I feel like Mark Burnett is going to have more control than Cameron just based on their areas of expertise.  Burnett was the guy who brought us The Apprentice and Survivor.  But anyways, as long as Comedy Central is kept 500 feet away at all times then woot!  I've always said that that robot combat could find a second wind on TV if someone was willing to put up a large enough cash injection.

... If it even lasts more than two episodes. Look up Heartland Thunder. It was to be a weekly series about dirt track racing on Discovery. Aired two episodes, didn't get the ratings they expected, and was dropped. They played the remaining episodes that were ready to be aired in the  1 AM timeslot over a span of 4 days. I was pissed.

If it is successful, it would have been better if they picked a name containing less faggotry.

To be fair, Robot Wars Series 7 champion was Typhoon II, which 'won' against a very good Biohazard-esque bot. Series 3 was also almost won by Hypnodisc, and the prior two seasons had somewhat nerfed designs because of the Gauntlet/ Trials and rampant House Robots (which were reined in as seasons went on).

I'm just over the moon right now for more robots. I hope Warhead makes a re-appearance, and I hope I can watch it from the UK.

And my first thought upon hearing the news? "Oh man, we might get a new game to go with the show!!!!"
