murphy's law 2, 2011- not exactly high tech but is being bloody complicated at the moment!

half the time with really advanced robots (like mortis and things) the high tech ness went against them in combat

Actually Sparks, 101 did have a clever system for its spike- it used sensors that would automatically fire the spike whenever a target came into range.

Was there ever a video of that match? I have a book which mentioned that match and I have never seen it.

Anarchy was another one I could think of- it's one thing making a cool walking robot, but making one that can fight as well as a wheeled robot? That's something else- it was very quick and reliable for a true walker, and it had very effective combat capabilities on top of that.
