Because 1/2 of the drive died?

My theory for the screwing over of StormII is based on the fact that StormII was part of a new generation of newer bots that challenged (and defeted) the "invincible" veteran "legends" of RW. It showed the weakness of famous bots and that there were machines much better than they were. To see what I mean watch pretty much any S7 RW battle (except one with stormII), a battle with StormII, and a US HW fight from 2003-2005 with the sound off and without a bias.

Which was more entertaining? It should be fairly close between the US battle and StormII. Why? Because machines like StormII and many US bots were less homebrew and more engineered than most RW bots were at the time. Going back to my theory... RW didnt want StormII because it pushed robot design into a whole new league (like what happened in the US) and made most homebrew bots completely noncompetitive. Just to tack onto my statement StormII also challenged the "invincibility" of the house bots, which is another thing the RW production crew didnt want.

I find it funny how about 90% of the bots mentioned in this thread haven't fought in years and or only fought a couple of matches, and there are still heated debates over them.

It's funny; would the same thing have happened to other "engineered" bots that reached the stage of Storm? For example, TAN, while not avertly damaging, was very effective and resilient, so if that had reached the final (where it could have very easily taken down Typhoon, and would have probably succeeded in defeating the much slower X-Terminator to get there), and a different robot was there in the place of the similarly thought out Storm (say, Firestorm, considering that there is a decent possibility of it beating storm, and which could have easily beaten Tornado as Firestorm has a lower ground clearance and is not that much slower than Tornado), would there be a similar sort of Mentorn crisis?

Typhoon, their whole team were liars, cheaters and general dicks.
Er, no

You do not have the right to talk about people like that when you have not even met them

Free speech and all that...

I do totally agree with TRB being wrong, but he has free speech.
My above post explains everything about everything.

Mighty Mouse

That tail did absolutely nothing to damage it's opponent, and it's spike didn't do much either considering it almost never perfectly rammed with the point of the spike.
How you make Alarm Clock Pizza is:
Step 1: You buy an alarm clock from the store, and then you have to break it and put it in the sauce.
Step 2: Fold the sauce in 5 slices and put it in the dough.
Step 3: Paint the eggs with a pitcher of a clock showing what time you want to wake up and eat pizza for breakfast.
Step 4: Put the eggs in the dough.
Step 5: Make it flat into a round shape and draw the time you want on it.
Step 6: Put some old steel to prevent other peple from stealing it.
Step 7: Make it flat and cut into 60 slices 1 for each minute in 1 our.
Step 8: Put in the oven set the timer to 30048813.2884 seconds and put the temperature on 'Volcano' setting.
Step 9: If you think it is take to long, then get yor alarm clock and set it to now so that it will ring and you can take it out.
Step 10: Take it out uv the uvin wen it is redy and go to bed. In the morning eat pizza and also eat yor hands bi mistake.

MeggaMouse is a completely different robot to Mighty Mouse

No, isn't there still a Mighty Mouse that competes with a flipper?

Nope, that's MegaMouse you're thinking of. It's the same team granted, but it's grey rather than blue, is bigger, and has a flipper and exposed tyres.

I'm sorry, but they blatantly lied to the judges of the competition to win. That, to me, is cheating, so these's 2 of the 3 down. And entering 2 bots (basically 3 with he clusterbot) into the MW final is pretty cheap, doubling your chancs of winning, but when they obviously avoided each other, it goes into the realm of cheating, in my opinion. Obviously Mentorn felt differently.

And the 3rd one is down to one's opinion, I suppose.

Look, half the time you don't even know that your robot is broken until you closely inspect it

And the second is completely un-cheating! Several teams entered two heavyweights, so why should teams not be allowed to enter two middleweights?

Both Team Storm and a member from the Typhoon team still compete today. If there was cheating in the FINAL of Robot Wars, I'm sure there would be some obvious hard feelings, and there aren't any!

In the second case, it's not so much cheating for me as it is very unsporting- ganging up on two seperate robots with three in a team.

Sure they entered more than 1 robot but typhoon did fight it like a tag team which seems a bit unfair but not really against the rules.

It's just like a giant walker clusterbot but with wheels
i just realised that makes no sense at all
DSL Showcase
is this bot don't lost all razors in a fight before do a damage thought

There was cheating, but the cheating was wholly on the producers' part.

Think about it like this. The exploited a loophole in the rules to gang up on the other robots. when someone exploits a loophole in a popular online game (Such as Call of Duty, for example) they are banned. I don't see why the Typhoon team were allowed to get away with hat. It's not that they entered 2 bots, it's that they basically entered a HW clusterbot into a MW final. In fact, it was even worse, because even if one was eliminated, the other could carry on. Tell me, how is that fair?

Sure, you can blame Mentorn, but it was the typhoon team that took advantage of the rules, or to be more precise, the lack of one for that 'strategy'.

I remember being so angry at Philliper for that comeback- had it not been for that stroke of luck, it would've been trounced, no doubt. And maybe Tornado too, depending on what weapon it had.

Probably not, Tornado would just equip the scoop weapon and give it the old heave-ho; if it could get pushed by a 2-wheeled Belgian, then no way it could stand up to Tornado.  What would've been better was the inclusion of a 3rd place playoff; Razer vs Black Hole.  Regardless of the winner, at least one of them would end their career on a high note.

Black Hole probably would have given it a run for its money though, and done some damage for a judges decision.

And Razer probably would have won, piercing the middle of Black Hole or something.
