It was definitely one my worst moments with RW, seeing one of my all-time favourites in that state. That's it though. You watch it and get favourites, and then hate seeing them lose.Just like me and SoW :DNot necessarily- all its other losses were not so costly. I mean, think about its fight with Bigger Brother. Sure Bigger Brother flipped it over and ended its run as Champion, which even though it made me sad, but it had to happen at some point, and was mainly down to skill rather than sheer brute force.

1) Tough as Nails/Cheap as Chips
Quote from: GoldenFox93 on June 04, 2011, 01:34:01 PM1) Tough as Nails/Cheap as ChipsYou don't like it because of its tactics. Grab and pit. Why don't you hate Panic Attack jointly?
@GoldenFox: I still think TAN is a superior. That's your opinion, and that's fine- I just hate the robot myself. TAN was built with the RWs arena in mind, Panic Attack only adapted. Only the pit, really. TAN was not cheap, it simply fallowed what the builder wanted. The idea of a "Horizontal Crusher" was actually quite an interesting one in theory, but it's hardly an interesting design in practise if it just grips hold instead of actually doing anything. And to be frank, I think Disco Inferno is a rather lackluster machine, and Gravity while cool, was horridly impractical. Disc-O-Inferno did actually improve in its later years- it won an Annihilator in RW Extreme, tore Velocirippa apart, and got to the Heat Finals in Series 6, only losing out to Bigger Brother. So yes, I think, had it not been pitted, it could have done quite well. Gravity however, impractical as it may be, was still a far more interesting robot than TAN, in the fact that it could actually do something to its opponents, in this case tossing opponents around like toys.

Your Entitled to your opinion TAN was built with the RWs arena in mind, Panic Attack only adapted. Only the pit, really. Wasn't the pit lowed by an operator? In most of the cases when Panic Attack used the pit, the battle was pretty much over, with exceptions. TAN was not cheap, it simply fallowed what the builder wanted. The idea of a "Horizontal Crusher" was actually quite an interesting one in theory, but it's hardly an interesting design in practise if it just grips hold instead of actually doing anything. TAN is not a crusher, it is a clamp bot, just like Complete Control, and no ones calling that cheap. I think it's more interesting seeing an untested design go at it. Disc-o-inferno design is a tired, bland, overused machine. If I recall correctly, Velocirippa was built with a fiberglass shell, which basically is spinner bait as is. Gravity was against some experienced machines, but they were almost entirely infective, had high ground clearance, or was to slow to stop it. The reason why TAN beat them was because TAN was better, not cheap.

This could be a start of somthing great. History may repeat itself! I think you all know what I mean.

Hmmm... I slightly remember it. But just the teenyest tinyest bit.
