I really don't see the problem with tough as nails. I mean i agree that the fight against robochicken was bs, but he beat Panic Attack fair and square.  And isn't putting your opponent in the pit the exact same tactics PA used to win Series 2?
 And even if TAN lost to PA or Robochicken I doubt it would have made a difference since neither have a schrimech and Bulldog Breed would have just flipped them.

It was 'utilising its surroundings'. The thing is, I don't mind bots occasionally putting opponents in the pit, but not when is pushes its opponents into the pit ALL THE TIME.

If you think about it, it was the cleverest design in the history of RW. It made use of the stuff around it very cleverly. Sure, it would fail in most arenas, but it was designed to be in the RW arena, and make use of that pit.

I dont discount tornado's abilities, its great driver, or its time and effort put into it.. but if your going to make a pusher.. make it smash things into the wall and incredibly high rates of speed....

I was just referring to how it could change weapons to suit opponent types.

Speaking of Mortis, that was my favorite bot of all time. Just finally seeing destruction on robot wars relieved me.

Worst robot of all time would go to.... Either Biohazard or Voltronic. Both made almost all 3 minute matches with no destruction involved at all. LIFTERS are boring, but FLIPPERS rule.

Diotoir was one of my favourite bots in RW history. Not particularly good in combat, but funny as . Same goes for Plunderbird, whatever guise it was in.

Getting back to Tough As Nails, and how it had no discernable weaponry, when Robot Wars moved onto Channel Five, the people who were running it at that point didn't even allow the ultra-tough Storm I to enter the qualifiers, because it was just a box with wheels, and was deemed "too boring", despite the fact it probably would've been a great competitor. I can't really see how TAN was allowed to compete and the original Storm wasn't.

storm 1 was how storm 2 got into RW

Storm 1 was a tracked robot with a claw.. Storm 2 was the rammer (technically the one in Series 7 was Storm 2.5)

there was a mix up in the application and the RW crew came into possession of a picture of Storm 1 and not Storm 2,

they accepted Storm 2 into the new blood championship based on the Storm 1 picture.. when the team arrived the RW crew were very surprised to see a different robot and were going to turn them away.

they ended up being allowed in and they won meaning that got free entry into S7, the moving weapon rule was then brought in and they were forced to add the flipper.
