Least favorite robot!

Toe Crusher was the worst hammer ever.  It's a torque-reaction hammer, but there's no delay between between the hammer firing and the robot moving backwards. It's virtually incapable of hitting an oppoent, even if the opponent is standing still. But what really gets my goat is that it was a sponsor-bot; Christian Carslberg got a big check from Wizards of the Coast to build his robots, and this is the best he could do?

Considering he created it back in '98 or '99 (and thus was before Wizards' sponsorship), I would say no. Of course, he could have made it better, but methinks that's exactly what he was wanting to do.

I'm more critical of the robots on "Battlebots" because the producers arbitrarily selected which matches and which robots got to be on TV (rather than doing something such as "everyone who makes it to the top 32 gets to be on TV")

That is problem. But I'd take that over the flipper-flipper-flipper-flipper-flipper-Hypnodisk-flipper-flipper Robot Wars bots.

Do you really think that? Only 2 champions were flippers of any kind. We had some nice spinners, rammers and *shudders* Razer.

RW was spammed with flippers but they were not all winners.. most got cleaned up by spinners in the later series

Flippers are the best. I always love to watch when example, Axe Awe flied...

Axe-Awe being flipped out of the arena was excellent.

I have to say, one of my least favourite bots was probably Tornado. I know I'll get flamed senseless for saying that, but I didn't like it when it eliminated Gemini in the Fourth wars, and I didn't like it when it won the Sixth wars for being too big to fit down the pit. Judges should've given Razer than one, in my opinion.

Sure it had the potential, but we hate it because-
a) No destructive capabilities
b) Relies on the pit to win anything
c) Duped Robochicken, Panic Attack and Disc-O-Inferno out of their potential results if it hadn't been there
 
In closing, I also consider it to be the real-life equivalent of winning a RA2 match by pinning an opponent against a wall.

If you think about it, it was the cleverest design in the history of RW. It made use of the stuff around it very cleverly. Sure, it would fail in most arenas, but it was designed to be in the RW arena, and make use of that pit.

Cleverest design in RW history? Right. Three robots.
Tornado, Gemini and Anarchy.
 
Also, all it really did was just grab opponents and pit them straight, without any hope of return. At least other grabbers, like Razer and Kan Opener gave opponents a chance (By sometimes releasing them).
And the whole thing about the pit is what annoyed me, really. In many cases, it should really be used for disposal of beaten robots, not to win matches half-heartedly. That's why the pit system in Series 4 was one of the best the series had, so that cheap tactics, like those Cheap as Chips always employed, couldn't be used.
