Not so much the fact that he likes it (I mean, everyone's entitled to an opinion), and I'd have been alright with it had it just kept the first part, but it's more that second TAN FOREVAR bit that I quoted that irked me a little.

Why are you still butthurt about TAN? You don't hear me complaining about cheap losses from my favorite robots, like when Dr. Inferno Jr. beat Wedge of Doom for the LW season 5 championship even though WEDGE OF DOOM WAS CLEARLY DOMINATING! HONESTLY! YOU CAN'T HAVE A ROBOT WIN JUST BECAUSE THE OTHER ONE IS SMOKING A LITTLE! THAT THING WORKED FINE EVEN WHILE IT WAS SMOKING! LEARN TO FKING JUDGE!

I mean, seriously.

It wasn't a judging failure, it was obvious that they wanted Dr. Inferno to win the championship because it was a crowd favorite. That being said it was still a pretty cool bot, all of Jason Bardis's creations have been pretty cool and full of charm, while still being effective.

My favorite bots are probably TaN (legitimately, I really liked the design), Mantis, Complete Control, Tetanus Booster, and Thermidor 2.

TAN FOREVER
TAN > CHAOS 2

Then you'd probably like this guy as well.

Why yes- nothing wrong with using the Pit at the right time, but having to rely on it to win (Like Cheap as Chips does) is just cheap.
...and alot of flippers rely on oota to win
As for the part on flipping and OOTAing, that actually takes more skill, and is actually exciting to watch and pull off.
lol theyre just about the same formula tho

>[flipper] bot X vs [dummy] bot Y
>bot X drives bot Y onto its front
>bot X fires its flipper and ends it there

>[tan] bot Z vs bot Y
>bot Z drives bot Y into its front pincers
>bot Z has to drive it into the pit WITHOUT bot Y escaping and bot X EDIT: *Z has to open its pincers at an exact point where it can drop bot Y in without falling in itself

also on a completely unrelated note its not like tan is foolproof, it has its flaws/counterbalances
>it can only grasp one bot at a time, meaning its at a disadvantage in rumbles
>it has to be able to grasp the bot's sides
>practically worthless against spikeball-ing spinners and fast rammers

How you make Alarm Clock Pizza is:
Step 1: You buy an alarm clock from the store, and then you have to break it and put it in the sauce.
Step 2: Fold the sauce in 5 slices and put it in the dough.
Step 3: Paint the eggs with a pitcher of a clock showing what time you want to wake up and eat pizza for breakfast.
Step 4: Put the eggs in the dough.
Step 5: Make it flat into a round shape and draw the time you want on it.
Step 6: Put some old steel to prevent other peple from stealing it.
Step 7: Make it flat and cut into 60 slices 1 for each minute in 1 our.
Step 8: Put in the oven set the timer to 30048813.2884 seconds and put the temperature on 'Volcano' setting.
Step 9: If you think it is take to long, then get yor alarm clock and set it to now so that it will ring and you can take it out.
Step 10: Take it out uv the uvin wen it is redy and go to bed. In the morning eat pizza and also eat yor hands bi mistake.

On the subject of TAN, though it's continuous pit tactic would annoy fans, it had a job to do. It was designed to win and get a quick victory. It's not how you win, it's the fact that you do win that counts.

EDIT: Yay 800th post, I should actually be on 2000 if the the chatterbox and playground sections counted.

Yeah I really don't understand the idolization of old robots and the belief that Hypno Disc could take on and beat any 220...

Also throw in HotStuff and Diesector.

easy, just think of ra2

hypnodisc is leprosy
modern day 220's are modern day pwn/sage/etc bots

it was remembered for how destructive it was, but its clearly aged and cant really fight most modern day bots

Didn't Disector become Karcas or Vice Crypt, or whatever that thing is called?

As far as my favorite bots go, modern stuff would have to be

Enforcer
Sewer Snake
Hot Stuff (aka Sublime 2 electric boogaloo)

Battlebots robots would be

Biohazard
Tazz
Grendel

and UK RW

Panic Attack
King Buxton
Killhurtz

I guess you could say that I really like lifters...

But TAN is a much better bot that Chaos 2 in terms of engineering anyway.
No. I fail to see how what is essentially a giant pair of tongs on wheels can even compare.
A reliable, fast, invertible, NOT UNDERWEIGHT, endurance, and better armored pair of tongs can most certainly compare. It's just more up to date than Chaos 2 and doesn't lose its effectiveness half way through a fight due to extremely limited C02 supply.
Also, I suspect that TAN could easy have steered bots into walls, hazards and more. In many ways, if your dissing TAN, your dissing Mantis as well, which is a very similar bot in terms of operation.

TaN was a pretty genius, while somewhat boring design. Clampers/jaws had been used as weapons before, but making your whole robot the Jaw?That's just awesome insanity.

Thing is though, it didn't. Cheap as Chips' strategy was always the same- grab, pit, rob fight of any potential for entertainment.

I do like Mantis though, mainly due to the clever engineering behind it that allowed it to both lift and hold onto opponents, allowing it to carry them around ala Complete Control. That was actually somewhat entertaining to watch, and it actually did things other than being entirely dependent on the Pit to do anything.

Then blame who was driving for not quite fitting your entertainment schedule rather than winning (and let's not forget, there was a cash prize for the 7th wars), not the bot..
Also, I find TaN entertaining. Sorry if it doesn't for you but I enjoyed watching bots get pitted in such an effective fashion. It may have been predictable, but hey, sometimes predictable is fun.

Also, in a similar way, I agree with Mr. As on OOTA'ing. It was used to a ridiculous extent in the 7th wars and I was thankful that there was a heat where the generic flipper didn't win (unlike with Thermidor, Atomic, M2, Firestorm, The Grim Reaper, Raging Nightmare, St. Aggro, Gravity, Dantomkia, Bulldog Breed, and Mute. ...You see my point? Only 5 of the 16 semi final bots weren't flippers:P).
