Favourite Robots
« on: June 07, 2006, 02:23:24 PM »
I'm sure everybody out there has a favorite real robot, and I didn't see this thread already made, so why not, right?

Anyway, I have a fairly unknown favorite robot.  It was in robotica season 2 and it taught me to love drums.  It's name is Ill Tempered Mutt.  I can only find one picture of it:

The front V wedge came of during the "Fight to the death" in the last round of each robotica show.  Under it was a drum with pointy teeth.  I can still remember seeing is dig into the competitor and tear off almost a complete side panel in a single hit.

If anybody has any other pictures of it, that would please me oh so much.  Anyway, now, how about the rest of you share your favorite robot.

I remember that bot.  I was disappointed that it didn't make it to another fight to the finish so I could see the drum again.  That was back in the day when about the only other drum bot was El Diablo which, although it looks really cool, isn't all that powerful.

My favorite bot would have to be The Judge.  There are plenty of fearsome spinners out there that make you put extra armor on the front of your bot, but how many hammer bots are fearsome enough to make you put on an extra 1" lexan plate to protect your top?  And then The Judge just punches right through it   I wonder if it will compete again after that thrashing by Super Megabyte.

I'm pretty sure everyone knows what The Judge looks like, but just in case anyone doesn't:

No sense in me creating an identical new topic, so, I'll bump this one. My favorite bot is Diesector. You all should know what it looks like, unless you if waaaay outside the USA or under a rock.

That's Diesector. I also like Tombstone, Ziggo, El Toro, and Mechavore.

That Diesector looks at my eyes like a technic lego robot or something.  :D  Maybe the yellow color makes it to look like that.

Hazard is an all time favorite that comes to mind. Not too many bots remain in one piece after a hazard match, just see what happened to Complete Control LOL. Hazard had never even lost a fight that is until T Minus came along and flipped it. A massive spinning blade with high yield destruction is great to watch. For the same reason I also like Ziggo for it's destructive abilities, now that's a spinner. :!:

the match with HAZARD and T-MINUS was awsome. i think T-minus one by flipping hazard's skirts up and then the skirts were hit by the spinning blade, causing him to like wobble and fly in random directions. i think that was hazard's only lose.

the best was when he DESTROYED blade runner.

Does anyone know if Battlebots sells any of their season matches on DVD. Ever since Battlebots got cancelled off Comedy Central I can't find DVDs featuring the matches. It makes no sense if they would open up the market and sell the seasons they could make a lot of money. My wife even said she would get me some robot canage DVDs for Christmas, problem is we can't find anything being sold by Battlebots. The matches referred to in all thes posts are great, now if only someone would sell them all on tape.
