Padding? By that, I meant the unnecessary little segments like "What to do with your Giant Nut Trophies" and stuff like that, or the bits with Bill Nye stating the obvious- "T-Minus is using its lifting arm to flip itself over- let's see if it can do it", leaving time for only three fights per episode.

Robot Wars on the other hand pretty much got straight to it, and when it did need padding it was done quite well, with the interviews, showing the mechanical gubbins of the competitors, and the side competitions that took place. And even still, it had time for about 5-7 fights per episode.

I think the three (BB, RW, Robotica) are both equally

Wait, but didn't BB have not that many rigged fights?

Only in the same way that you're a BB fanboy.

Not so much, just more explaining one of the plusses RW had over BB- they're both good competitions, but RW did manage its time a little bit better, I have to say. The in-depth demonstrations of the mechanical aspects of the competitors during the interviews was another plus- it was definitely a factor in making engineering cool to its viewers.

One thing I noticed UK robot combat has a lot of flippers that are almost carbon copies of each other.

Well, that's what the safety rules with Roaming Robots do to you, mate  :/

On the plus side however, with flippers, axes and crushers being the main types of robot over here, it makes driving skill quite essential and a good characteristic of UK robot building, instead of simply being a contest over who can build the biggest weapon and shove it into your opponent first, like with some (but not all) US competitions I see.

Well, I wouldn't say far better, but still, we're still about even. This resent Robogames had more wedges/flippers/axes then spinners.

Completely wrong

Fights here are more tactical, in the US its just "hit the other bot with the big spinner"

Nonsense, we have vertigo.
Thank you

Why do people always stereotype Americans as being lazy? Our drivers are amazing, just look at team plumb crazy and Team biohazrd!
