It can be very expensive but their are ways to raise money at least when your out of school and working that is. The best suggestion that I can think of is to either try some investing or saving it in a high interest yielding CD if you don't have a high risk tolerance. Keep two things in mind when it comes to raising money
1) You either have to cut expenses at home
2) Or increase the amount of money you can make through a higher paying job. Those who go to college and graduate will make a whole lot more money than those who don't.
It also helps to think about the type of bot you want to build, a person is going to pay a whole lot more for the materials to build a super heavy weight than for a lightweight. Either way it's not cheap and if your bot gets destroyed (Hazard Style) you have to spend even more money to replace that motor the Judge just punched a hole in.   I'll stick to watching matches for this reason.

So that's how the quote system works, I'm terrible with computers. Anyone ever seen some of the great matches by Ziggo, I think the best matches involve spinners or bots with blade weapons like Hazard. Whats the point of watching wedge bots try to ram each other or flip one another. It's the destruction that's fun to watch.

I have made a few "bots" if you can call them that.  One time because I just grab cheap parts and what I had from when I was 5.  Tyco battle bots are great for the school yard wars.  I made a shell spinner using one of my old tyco rc and putting a racing motor on top of it with a shell attached.  It was very dangrous because the shell was control by a switch on the bot.  If you wanna get some friends togather and make some cheep bots that not need much work just do that and if you want you can toss togather some kinda arena.

UK Xterminator for me, it was 4th in Series 7 and is the only Virtical disk in the World powerful enough to flip bots in the Air and make them to a summersault,     and unlike Nightmare, its got a strimec,   it 'Disked' Killer  Karrot and Tsunami out of the arena,
