WBC, no
Gravity, yes

WBC wasn't actually a good flipper, it just used Nitrogen instead of CO2 which made it very dangerous, the pneumatic system couldn't properly withstand the gas, thus why robots in the UK are only allowed to use CO2 or Air for pneumatics

Throughout series 5

If you cannot understand how dangerous it was, it could have blown all the pneumatics inside the robot apart at any second

Is that the reason why we didn't see them in later series'?

I thought they just didn't have enough money (yes i'm that silly :D)

Was there a slightly similar risk to what happened with Spawn Again against Raging Reality in Series 7, where their piston actually blew itself apart and left itself hanging out of the front of the machine?

Nah, that was in the arena

WBC could have blown apart it's CO2 tank anytime in the pits area
The key is in the word, CO2 tank, not made to hold nitrogen :P

From the RWW:

"Wheely Big Cheese was intended to return for the Sixth Wars and be seeded again for the main competition, however, around the Series 5 period, the Wheely Big Cheese team fell out with the producers of the show over personal disagreements and retired from Robot Wars alltogether. Roger Plant then decided to sell or give away all of his robots."

We've been through this before, Nitrogen Gas + CO2 Powered Tank and Ram = Unstable Explosive Cheat

That's why I also listed Kronic and Iron Awe- even with CO2 flippers, they were seen to be more than capable of tossing robots into the air like confetti at a wedding.
