They're both good but UK flippers tend to launch things forward rather than spinning them in the air and have wider coverage.

UK style. It's more sleek and less clunky and obvious and... ugh... like the American ones

I actually think the Matador is better than the UK bots you listed.

Although UK style flippers look cooler, they seem to be a bit to powerful and backfire:

I picked American-style.

I'm going for the UK style. I think it does look a lot sleeker and has a lot more coverage than the US versions, which seem to be far too boxy for my liking. It would be easier to kick the opponent up in the air, but you'd need a lot more pressure for the same amount of force that the UK versions exert on the opponent, if it's something like Explosion, with the ram closer to the hinge, than T-Minus, which has its ram further away from the hinge.

Either flipper is fine, it's all a mater of the arena it self. (UK style for distance, US style for height.)

american flippers are more powerful, but don't use the power well enough.
its basicly put the biggest thing you can find on it, armour it in ti and have exposed wheels, why dosen't it work propperly???
they tend to chuck stuff up instead of infront.
uk ftw

Yeah, I also think that UK flippers would be not much fun to watch in US arenas (like the Battlebox) and vice versa.

American Style: Less surface front to get hit by a spinner, no exposed insides when arm is raised, drive can be closer to the front allowing a smaller turning radius. Also it's more mechanically efficient because the ram is closer to the flipper plate creating a smaller fulcrum.

This is a better example of current American flippers instead of T-minus which is about 10 years old now.

Both are great.

I'm just sick of everyone treating the US bots like they're second fiddle to the UK bots.

us flippers are just designed to actually take hits from a spinner where uk are just facing other flippers

also people from the uk are just going to vote for uk and likewise for USA so this is pointless

I picked UK flippers only for the fact that they throw forward, not straight up, and so are generally better in OOTA situations.

However, I do kind of like the very serious look of the US flippers, even if they look very chunky. I think they look better than a big ugly wedge, like the new Iron Awe or whatever they're called now. The upwards flipping is also pretty cool, i like seeing things spin in the air, but I voted UK as my take on the question is which do you think is more battle-effective.

Maybe, but it's how you implement it that matters- an expert driver with a basic robot is more likely to win than a novice with the latest technological marvel.
