Icewave v Chomp went pretty much as expected...

Warhead vs Stinger was actually a lot of fun... it was cool getting to see a bit more of how warhead works and moves, especially the head angle.. Im surprised they went full throttle into stinger.. I felt like they could have put up a stronger fight if they tapped into Ian's normal tactical driving and ate some wheels.. but then again Warhead isnt quite as nimble as Razer.

Very surprised Warrior gave out so easily? considering in the past its gone toe to toe with megabyte and nightmare and been able to keep it together... I kinda hope Icewave scatters Ghost Raptor across the floor, the guy annoys me haha

Bronco v Plan X was expected too.. Bronco may actually be a dark horse here.. looks pretty solid and the screws and seemingly eliminating robots quite easy when they get tossed on them

Thoughts on today's episode:

-Icewave is p cool
-Is it just me or is Warhead not operating at max capacity? It's dome isn't quite spinning as fast as it used to...
-Warrior vs Ghost Raptor was... it was something. Though I am glad that they are at least televising all the fights
-Bronco might actually win this. Like they said, it's built like a tank and I honestly could see it beat Tombstone or Icewave if it comes to that.
-Plan X is still underwhelming. tbh i think it's a lil messy and the fact that it's not even that good in combat is eh
-Ghost Raptor. shame, I really thought it stood a chance.
-Stinger could actually win this too

Icewave vs Chomp:
Thankfully Icewave was working. Predicted IceWave would win.

Warhead vs Stinger:
Poor Warhead. Surprised how he survived. Just amazing. Maybe his decision on putting him back wasn't so bad. I think Stinger might take it over Tombstone, now.

Warrior Clan vs. Ghost Raptor:
Dang, Ghost Raptor cannot drive...Sucks that Warrior Clan broke. (RIP TEAM WHYACHI)

Raptor vs. Plan X:
Up and Over... Eh, boring. Bronco is pretty good

I'm gonna be honest (and I've mentioned this before in another forum), but I don't want to hop on the Chomp and Plan X hate bandwagon. As someone who actively competes and maintains three combat robots, I realize that it takes a lot of work to get them ready, and having them work is a feat in and of itself.

Reminder that overhaul, better known as "GET YOUR HAND OFF THE STICK" will have to go up against Icewave or Ghost raptor (although it'll probably be icewave, let's be real here) if they even manage to make it to the RO4.

I'm pretty much rooting for any bot that isn't overhaul to win.

So glad that Glass Raptor gets put against IceWave. Trash robot and trash driver, got lucky that both robots he went against had mechanical problems then acts like it was all him. Smug bastard.

I don't know who to root for when it comes to Overhaul vs Lock-Jaw. I'm good friends with many of the members of the team, but Don is my favorite builder of all time!

Builders got way too upset over a "late hit" that did virtually no damage and most likely wasn't even taken into account by the judges, and then were salty that they lost the JD* after they got flipped over with no way to self-right (if they did have a way to self-right, they certainly didn't show it off very well).

*Actually, I watched the fight again and they seemed to make amends after the judge's decision. My mistake there.

Two things, late hits aren't cool independent of whether or not they do damage. When the fight's over, it's over. Also, Overhaul is capable of self righting and the late hit prevented that. It's a safe bet Don realized they were going to right themselves and charged in not realizing the fight was over already.

On your first point, they were likely trying to get Dons attention since the match was, you know, over. There's also the whole "lots of teams pound on the glass in celebration" bit. It's 1.25" thick lexan. It's not fragile. On the self righting, it looked to be just about there when Lock-Jaw hit it, and if it couldn't, why not leave 'em there?

Gotta say I'm on AS's side about this.

Okay, late hitting isn't right and it doesn't matter who you are. We've cemented that.

However, the MIT guys were reacting to it as if Tombstone had done a late hit and shredded apart half of their bot. But no, it was Lockjaw, and the most that lockjaw could've done in that late hit is a few scratches, maybe a dent or two, maybe a battery knocked loose. Those are all things that can be (relatively- do remember icewave's team had to take apart and clean the entire internals of icewave) easily fixed or ignored.

Okay, Overhaul is capable of self-righting. The late hit did prevent that. What difference would it make if they were back on their wheels after the match had ended? Would the late hit suddenly be less wrong because overhaul would be able to return the favor? I don't understand that logic.
