I've received battledutchman's DSL bot update.  Will check soon.  In other news, I got Thrackerzod's and DeadGenocide's Trio AI'd and ready to go.

Also, I can't believe I just noticed this now, but Bobyasianboy's DSL bot is 0.4 kg overweight.  So he needs to fix that quickly.

Okay, I know there hasn't been many updates for this, but unfortunately, I haven't gotten to AI the entries I currently have, as I've been swamped with getting my life together for my summer job and other things that I have been doing.

So, I'll get to AI'ing the bots around Monday.  In the meantime, please enter.

Oh, and I know this is a late reply but...
Every thread getting updated with this new rule in it :P amazing to see this big success it caused.
I probably would've allowed the tool to be used if I waited a bit, but because the rules set in stone can't change (at least not for a second change), I can't allow it.

So whos gonna buy on launch, whos gonna wait for reviews/gameplay?
If nothing gets in my way, then I'll probably buy the game at launch, but if things do get in the way, then I'll probably wait for reviews and wait for a steam sale.

Judging by the trailer, I'm a little scared as it looks like RA1 with RA2 parts and physics that are kinda rubbing me the wrong way in certain areas.

As much as I would love to, I seem to have lost my touch in making good splashes with interesting designs.  It certainly is a difficult task to find the perfect balance between the two, and those superior entrants really make me say "Why didn't I think of this when making my entrant?" don't help.  It makes me feel that about 2 hours of work was put for nothing and it's tough to get that momentum back.  It's also like a promise thing that I said when the thread went up.  You don't break promises.  :P

What's with the BOTM hiatus? Over-saturation?
Partially, but I really wanted to just have like a BOTM entrant where I can go out with a high note.  Too bad it didn't work out so well.  :welp)

RedAce still got me, but I think I fooled a couple other people.
Really, the skin is what gave it away for me.  I seem to notice a pattern in how you do you skins nowadays.

But yeah, for a last-minute entrant, it was alright, but nothing special.

DP

So, I guess with BOTM done, I might as well post what I entered.

I said that this would be my last entrant, so I thought I would go out with a bang with an artbot with some witty portions.  Shame it only got two votes, which would normally be a bad thing, but considering the popular entrants were a compact side hammer made by S_M and a Steg-o-Saurus style bot by Thyrus (I assume), I don't feel robbed.  Disappointed in myself for not making at the same caliber, but I'm not salty, oddly enough.  I think I've lost my touch with making cool BOTM entrants, but I'm certainly done with BOTM... at least for a very long time.  Who know, I might give it another crack one day.

Also, if anyone has any cool ideas for what I should build in DSL 2.2 next, then tell me.  I'm out of ideas again.

Hey I'd love to enter this one.  Just, not as a captain this time.

In terms of replica parts, just ban the overpowered weapons used on certain replicas (i.e. Hworf Blades and the Shish-Kabot spike tip).  Other than than, I can't think of much that needs to be banned.

Hredder 6.6 & Dark Void are the only two bots that come to mind when thinking of what bots you've built.  Hope that helps.

Oh yeah, for those still wanting to enter, just keep in mind that this also applies here too:
In light of the recently-released "no rule of 7" thing, I'd like to ask that you do not use it while building
So don't think you can just sneak something like that in my tournament without being noticed.

#1: At first glance, I thought it was a stock bot with the mud tires and caster.  Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it's overweight.  So if it is, how is it allowed?
It's 288.1 according to the splash and all the others are heavier than it, if anything it's underweight, unless you meant the ironforge weight standards but this is DSL(MW is 200-400 from what I remember, maybe 250?)
Oops.  That part completely slipped from my mind when I wrote that.  My bad.  :/

#2: Very well constructed and the blueprint motif is a nice touch.  The pictures hidden in the yellow side is the only thing that bothers me, but it's more so a nitpick than anything.  Click maybe?
#3: I love how the components are reskinned with how it's built.  Very well done.
#4: Honestly, I thought the font or the "Why, because I can" was in the font Papyrus.  Yeah okay.  The bot is still pretty good.  Splash is mediocre to be honest.
#5: Something is telling me that Thrackerzod built this from how the skin and construction on the bot is done.  Not entirely sure though.
#6: I love the originality, but the construction isn't the best to me, and the splash really could've been better.

Normally, I like to vote for one before I forget, but here, I can't decide on who to vote for.  Might need more time to think a little more for this one.

Do you guys think there will be a cheatbot3 code for this game?
I hope so.  It would follow tradition.  Though if they really want to get creative with the naming process, I'd love the code to be "ch3atbot" personally.  ;)

I guess the RW robots just aren't as high quality as the battlebots ones in their current form, was worried that they were going to get replaced.
Actually, I believe Click's reasoning  was that a lot of the RW replicas were updated in the RW RA2 mod and the Battlebots/RFL bots haven't been touched.  So he updated them for 2.2 so that they are in fighting form with updated AI and all that.

I apologize if I am not really describing this properly.  I honestly can't think of any better wording for it.   :dumb)
how about..."Each user can only be on one team"???
Yeah, that sounds much better.  Too late unfortunately.

Also, I did receive Fracture's and Gauche Suede's Stock bots.  Will look at them shortly.

I apologize for not being up to speed like I usually do these.  I've been preparing for my final exams lately.

I don't own this game, but I think I tried it out for five minutes way back in my middle school from a friend.  I wasn't big on the gimmicky stylus battle mechanic and the music is just bad (except fro the battle theme that yugi posted).  And that's all I remembered.  I was debating on buying the game to give it a fair shot,  but but after seeing Clement's review of the game, I think I'm better off avoiding it.  Shame too, because BioWare had developed that game.

TEAM RULES:
- If that one person is taken for just one bot, then he/she cannot build another bot in a different mod for another team.
What does this rule mean? If I make 2 bots for a team, can I build bots for another team?
It means if that if you are already on a team with someone, that means you can't join anyone else, even if it's for one extra bot for a mod you haven't already built for.  So since you sent 2 bots for Silverfish, that means you can't go with anyone else.

I apologize if I am not really describing this properly.  I honestly can't think of any better wording for it.   :dumb)

Thanks for the comments guys.  As for the Slaying Mantis thing, well...
Now for a totally original bot that I have made with my own style and definitely not stolen or inspired by anything.
I meant this in two ways.

May I play with it on the exchange?
Sure.  Have at it.

https://gametechmods.com/Robot_Exchange/DSL_HW/RedAce_Slaying%20Mantis.bot
https://gametechmods.com/Robot_Exchange/DSL_HW/RedAce_Slaying%20Mantis%20(Wedge).bot

Both versions are here.  And I wanted to make a wedge version to fend off the powerful spinners, as you may have guessed.

(Image removed from quote.)
Looks a lot like the Ronin rebuild in Restocked.
Did you mean ReForged?  Cause... the one in Restocked barely looks like this one.

oh speaking of which, i really should get to rebuilding those bots soon.

Thanks guys.  I really appreciate it.  :')

Anyway, Now for a totally original bot that I have made with my own style and definitely not stolen or inspired by anything.

It's pretty alright.  Slow as hell, as its only using single mags for drive, but it's still pretty good.  If you are wondering about the version on the right, then that is for taking on spinners and the Beta is actually geared opposed to the normal version.  This way it can catch bots inside and push them around.  Not sure how I will AI it though.  Probably with whatever .py TDD uses might do it, but I ain't quite sure.
