Was not impressed by the hate Steg 2 got on the discord yesterday, so I made a MW inspired by it just to spite everyone and because I like it. Happy with how it turned out, apart from the wheels I might have to do some fiddling with that (Image removed from quote.) (Image removed from quote.) (Image removed from quote.)
Damn that's lovely. Nothing negative to say about it. Your best bot so far I'd say.

Here's a new one. HW single tooth disc with 4 slimbody drive (only motors that would fit). Perm 132 for the weapon. Front pontoon wedges are all steel while most of the other plates are alu. Disc is ALMOST 100% perfectly balanced but I couldn't get it quite as good as I did on the previous STD I made which really was 100% perfect. I suspect due to the smaller diameter of the disc. Still not noticable over the natural shakiness of bots in RA2 and I 'm actually happy with how the bot came out which is more than can be said for most of the stuff I've built lately.

Thanks Olister :)
I've got his second half here Cyber Wolf 549.8 Pulsar Ripoff Grinder [ Quoting of attachment images from other messages is not allowed ] This bots more of a grinder and has way better defence no internal shot but its very basic 4 ants 1 black batt Titanium for the whole bot Scoop at the back for extra defence(is on a hindge)
The weapon supports look a lil messy to me, and I'm not a fan of the ant saws tbh. Other than that looks great though.

After all that I decided Speed Demon still wasn't good enough against HSes and had a bunch of other flaws too so I went back to the drawing board. This one should be all around a lot more effective. Trades 4WD for 2 but should still be fairly nippy, switches to a single perm 132 from dual perm 80s, the main benefit of which is extra torque for gutripping as the perm 80s were weedy as hell, and it also allowed me to move the motor back and out of harms way. I also added a big tanky steel wedge and a srimech to it as I wasn't satisfied with how much effectiveness it lost when inverted. I'm still not 100% sure on the visuals front though. Part of me likes how much more aggressive it looks, while another part of me misses the simplicity of the old one. Pics below:

the weapon supports look awesome too, were they changed form the original?
Yeah they've got some armour over them now to try to protect the weapon motors. Originally they were just barebones extenders

Purely aesthetically, I think it would look best without sheets or spikes. But then it would be sh** in battle so it's a tradeoff. I love the martini paintjob too, great work!
Totally agree but yeah it absolutely sucked without them unfortunately. Props for recognising the paint scheme too!

You could widen the gap between the front spikes and put the sheets in the middle if you really want to keep the sheets. I don't think that kind of setup would look bad personally.
Nah I'm happy with the setup as it is now. This is actually even wedgier than the skirt setup and looks a lot better.

Them sheets look pretty out of place, but looks good otherwise
Pretty much this, yeah. The sheets looks really 2.1 era tryhard.
I've pretty much only done them because I've seen others do much, much worse and get away with it.

Made some iterative improvements to Speed Demon to try to make it more effective. Dropped it to 4WD NPC regulars from fasts as the fasts caused it to flip over every time it rammed an opponent. The reduction in weight also allowed me to add some armour over the weapon motors. I also made the discs slightly smaller so that the teeth are more exposed and get a greater bite which should help it fight HSes which is a big weakness of the old one. Also gave it a much improved wedge too.

replace the extenders that make up the middle of the wings with poly sheets?
I'm fairly sure even the narrowest poly panels are too wide to fit in the middle of the wings unfortunately.

Well after much tinkering I think I found a setup that is OW legal and in weight. Turns out a disc with 4 typhoon teeth AGODs on this version anyway so even though I was able to find weight for it at 1 point during my tinkering it didn't work anyway. New setup with a 259 disc here seems to work though, though it's a bit ugly unfortunately.

Looks really cool! The wings and weapon supports are especially nice. Is selfrighting still a bit shaky? Also, aren't Mecha/Microvore spinners banned in OW?
That's true hadn't considered that. Guess I could go to a setup with 2 typhoon teeth instead of 4, or try to find a way to save a bit of weight for the next OW.

New version of The Apiarist after the performance of Version II in OW2. Main changes here are much faster drive (TWMR2s instead of regular TWMSs) and stronger frontal armour. Had to switch away from the yellow disc with 4 typhoon teeth to a microvore disc to get the weight to do it unfortunately, but I don't think it looks too too bad and the faster drive and better armour should help a lot in combat.

I hoped Babaulti could get revenge on Bocuma for killing Caspian Cobra, but alas, Bocuma is too good!/spoiler]
He's riled up after those damn pack snakes killed all his buddies!

2 out of 3 aint bad. Almost had pack snake at a few points but the AI was never gonna have an easy time dealing with a cluster and I just couldn't land that knockout blow early enough to let me focus on the other half of the cluster. Happy with Coldfront and Azimuth's performances though. Hope they can do well and continue to put on a strong showing through the rest of the bracket!

wtf why. I thought viewing figures were good?
For Series 8 yeah. S10 struggled to break a million sadly. Whole situation is just a bit sh**.

Yay! I'm in 2 of these fights! Very excited. Ophidia might be in with a chance. The whole armor is mostly steel, so it should be able to survive the first few hits (hopefully). But if it can't get under the fully body spinner, its so screwed. Pack Snakes are done for. A powerful flipper against a cluster is probably loss, unless luck is on my side .
Your bloody snake bots have already beaten me twice so don't count yourself out! :D

Here's the updated version anyway. Srimech is powered by a slow mag and could also act as a backup lifter if I added a smartzone for it. Also gave in to the meta on the weapon by switching to typhoon teeth which are lighter, more damaging and, IMO, better looking than the previous setup I had. All this brings it a lot closer to the weight limit as it now weighs 798.2KG
