Robot Rumble 2.0 / Re: Robot Rumble 2.0 - Robot Combat Simulator - Under Development« on: June 07, 2018, 08:46:44 PM »
man. this is nuts.
made a sexy robot some really neat features in here. im very impressed with what you guys have done, it's far and away the most complete robot builder i've seen besides ra2. I hope the work continues, I can't wait to see where it goes. especially interested in the bot creator. got some very good things so far, I'm especially happy with the custom shapes you can make, ra2 needed a feature like this. incredible work so far. bot lab has got me excited i have some bug issues with fighting however, not sure if others are having this. saw phil able to drive his bot but when I try to do a match it always ends immediately after the countdown, and says player 1 has won. this happens even if I set both players to cpu. I may be doing something wrong but if it's a bug I thought I'd let you guys know. 686
Discussion / Re: DSL weapon motors feel terribly weak next to real life« on: June 05, 2018, 02:59:31 PM »I think RWRA2 actually did this. There was a weapon motor that was both tiny and extremely overpowered, so with a good enough weapon you could punt opponents across (or even out of) the arena, like in real life. Of course, you also get the recoil/gyro like in real life, and at high enough speeds your bot will just start shaking and fly off uncontrollably. its almost like ra2 isnt optimized for competitive irl building 687

bar vs is pretty fun. wouldn't it to more damage with weapons on the tip?
jake or whatever is kinda neat. i like how the perms go by the wheels. weapon size looks very small though, like as in not much coverage or protection for the rest of the bot. especially with no wedge I can see it getting knocked around easy and having wheels chucked off or something. also the vertical stabilizer looks like it'll get in the way if a bot is on top or beneath yours. juggler looks solid enough. you might be able to get by with piglets if you need to. turning the skirts 180 might also be good, i find putting them like they are is kinda overrated and having a wider stance helps stay underneath bots better. pretty good other than that. 690
Ironforge TC Showcases / Re: The Mighty Reier's "ruminant arthritis" Ironforge extravaganza« on: May 30, 2018, 07:32:27 PM »
yeah its invertible but not too great with the plow. i could change it for a dark plate but I like the high fracture.
also when I say it doesn't affect mobility i mean there is absolutely no change in control regardless of the state of the burst. they wheels can be completely perpendicular to the front but it still drives normally. it's basically like the game calculates the directions it can move based on the initial placement of the wheels and is dang determined to keep it there even if common sense dictates otherwise. like this other than looking kinda cool, the wheels in that position really help the turnspeed situation. sidehammers usually turn like tanks, this one is pretty good in that regard 691

the only standard builder is back
trendsetter or special snowflake? you decide fun fact: attaching wheels like this doesn't affect mobility at all, even when the bursts are fired. Volatile Partisan from BBEANS3 did the same sort of deal if I recall. keeps the wheels out of the way too. eyyy ![]() ![]() ![]() 692

sucks you couldn't get a supervolt in nail. i don't think theres anywhere you could put it.
also instead of just ditching the hammers you may want to replace them with even just like a light 20cm just to avoid all possibilities of getting stuck on the side 696
Ironforge TC Showcases / Re: Neon Tries Ironforge« on: May 25, 2018, 11:23:58 AM »
well.. that's one way of doing it
do the light skirts help much? i guess they'd keep it more stable i was talking about widening the chassis though but hey if it works, it works. i do worry a little about the ztek getting amputated by a nasty HS, one dark plate isn't gonna stop that. there's probably not much you can do about it though with this setup. i wouldn't be concerned about it too much. 697
Ironforge TC Showcases / Re: 8bean's Ironforge Showcase« on: May 24, 2018, 05:26:46 PM »
wish there were internals. what drive and weapon power do they have?
they look solid though. nail's gonna suffer from damage but that's not really your fault and just more a sledge poker thing. wish there were a bit more wheel protection but it probably won't matter too much. without internals its pretty hard to give advice for jumbo but it seems well built enough. might worry a little about the tail being too long and getting snagged on walls and stuff but if it works it works. having heavy chassis armor on this design would help a lot but idk what the armor is. if you need weight then you can probably ditch the sledges on the wheels and amp it up a couple ratings 698

agree with badger, i think it would be a lot better if it was wider
weapon looks solid though 699
Discussion / Re: How did you find Ra2?« on: May 22, 2018, 10:34:28 PM »I found RA1 at full price at K-Mart after watching Battlebots and Robot Wars for a while. I remember it would always crash my old gateway desktop. I also bought RA2 for full price at K-Mart.i forgot to mention ra2 hard froze my garbege 2003 dell laptop literally after 10 minutes so i had to constantly exit to team hq like every 2 minutes and pray it didn't freeze also the laptop took like 10 mins to reboot once it froze and my parents only let me play pc games for an hour when i was a kid. and yes the reboot counted to that time. 700
