Here it is with a single disc for comparison's sake. Obviously less powerful but IMO better looking. Also allowed me to add some wedgelets and make some parts look cleaner

Here's a little cruiserweight vert thingy. Dual perm 80s for the discs, TWMRs for the drive so it's not the fastest bot in the world. Steel front wedge, everything else Alu. Somewhat based off the featherweight "Argh!" from Robot Wars Extreme 2 but I made pretty extensive changes to the design. May go to a single flywheel at some point just because I think it might look better, but I'm interested to hear what you guys think on that front.

Maybe not the best time to try and plug your pack man...

Pretty good start. It's a little generic but that's fine considering it's your first bot. My biggest piece of advice would be to build to the weight limit though. 516KG is substantially below even the cruiserweight limit of 600, so I'd try to beef it up to at least be close to 600. Maybe add a spinner killer wedge on the back or something. Other than that though no real cardinal sins here, so good job.
(an internals shot would also be nice though)

That's definitely one of the more unique VSs I've seen in a while. I for one like it.
Unique was the goal for the most part so I'm glad I at least somewhat accomplished it

Here's a vert design I've wanted to do for a bit now. Had been interested in doing a plough setup like this since I saw someone make a DSL-S bot with a similar setup fairly recently, and thought it looked interesting so I figured I'd try to transplant that design to an IRL bot. Weapon motor is a perm 132 and drive is 2 NPC regulars. Ploughs are mediums while everything else is Alu as weight was a big issue here. Backlash disc probably gets 0 bite but it looks pretty decent and is fairly light so that's what I went with. No srimech either and I hightly doubt it can aftershock its way back onto it's wheels but I guess we'll see.

Ah GG Reier. My odd weapon setup had seemed an advantage in some of my fights against more obscure bot types, but against a properly built HS it was never gonna be up to snuff. Happy my first proper attempt at stock got this far though, really shocked that my bots have done so well in all divisions of this tourney up to this point too.

ive got the first thing installed already, i need to turn it on to start doing what i want to do though
likely a stupid question: are all of these extender based bots heavyweights or ++? like, are middleweight and lightweight bots with extensive extenderwork a thing/ even remotely effective as an idea?
Extenderbots are most prevalent in the heavier classes but folks still do them in the lower weight groups too. In my opinion though there's definitely a crossover point at around Lightweight where building an extenderbot just becomes a burden more than it is a help.

Thought round 1 was over for Robo when he got stuck under the piston, but somehow he still came away with the win. Honestly, his bot has made it way further than I expected.
Same fam. Beginners luck I guess

considering that this is an irl tourney, i feel that a bot should automatically lose if any of its batteries or control board gets knocked out.
Bots have survived before with dead batts. I think Big Nipper did in the most recent series of Robot Wars. Control board I 100% agree though.

Gah I knew battery life was gonna be a real isse with Shrike and my fear proved well founded. Fairly confident I had a handle on that first match had I lasted the full 3 minutes. No real excuse for my poor second match performance though. I was against a great bot that countered me well. General Gwip's performances this heat were super impressive too, especially against Epilep-Z. All in all a really good heat with good displays from all the bots across the board

Here's one of my 2 entries to Middleweight Mixup 2 (The other being that middleweight version of Sabre from a while back). I made 2 configs for it but I've decided to only enter the flipper version in the end. Drive is 2 TWMRs for fairly average speed for an MW, while the flipper is powered by 2 small VDMAs which should provide a good bit of power. Would have liked to have had another bar connecting the arms of the flipper together closer to the tip, but it would have clipped with the triangular structure on top which holds one of the bot's batteries and therefore cannot be removed. The drum config uses a perm 80 for the weapon power but changes too much to really be a modular config as well as the drum being somewhat disproportionate to the rest of the bot, so I'm a fair bit less happy with that one. Not expecting either of my bots to do too much of anything competitively as they aren't shell spinners or overheads, but hopefully they'll at least look cool and do some good flips as they get ripped apart. Also while I'm at it, might as well showcase my full Mech Madness 2 lineup. Most of them have been seen before. Azimuth has been upped to 4WD since MM1, and Captain Pugwash is a 6mag powered wild thing style spinner that I'm not really all that pleased with compared to the rest of my lineup

Same here, 99% sure that I sent something on Discord

also entered, was told i got mine in just in time
IIRC it was a selective process a la Battlebots for the new blood so not everything that was entered made the cut

I Can't Believe It's Not A TheRoboteer Bot
oof I really like it though. Has everything I tend to look for in an IRL bot. Clean and uncomplicated without being boring or unoriginal, and something about that colour scheme just speaks to me on a spiritual level

Ok so to clarify I CAN make a spinner that goes through some components? I want to do a Tombstone esque but even the longest belt drive motor doesn’t set it out far enough. I’m making an honest effort to make it pass through as little as possible.
If it's passing through the weapon motor then no. You can pass through extenders and stuff but not components from the power or mechanics tabs.

Loved the old one and this one is even better! Future OW entry?
This wasn't actually intended as a sequel to the buffalo-themed front hinge I did a while back, but I can definitely see the resemblance. I can certainly try and make room for it in my planned OW3 lineup too if you'd like to see it!

Starting my preparations for Mech Madness 2. Will be entering a mixture of new builds, bots I built a while ago but haven't entered into a tournament yet, and veterans. Here's one of the new builds. Based somewhat on the chassis of my Deathmatch 2 entry but with major modifications which render it looking very little like it, this is Toreador. Beta burst for the flipper and 4 TWMR drives.

I love it when robots have faces on them!
It certainly adds some character to a bot. Thanks!

Ahh now we're getting some good fights. Lots of shocks this episode too. Hoppin's overhead getting murked by Olister's drum was both surprising and impressive, as was Orc beating an FBS. A straight up DSL-S bot managing to lose to an IRL vert was pretty funny too.

Aww yeah it's back. Really enjoyed the last MM so I'm looking forward to this one a bunch. Will get some bots sent to you ASAP!
