what a shame that less people does stock.
DSL is many times better than Stock tbh

Yeah, DSL is much more versatile on IRL than Stock. Plus, if you want to join tournaments (which you should) then there are pretty much no Stock IRL tournaments other than Banter Wars. As a general rule of thumb, Stock is generally the unrealistic Meta, DSL is generally the Standard or IRL Meta, and Ironforge is the Standard Meta

Also, i also once got overwhelmed by the amount of components on DSL. But by playing it, I learned more and eventually get used to it. Just try building for a tournament or for fun to practice

Edit: Also, you should try this thing called component reskinning. And OBJRA2, as well as extenderbots on DSL

Sorry if I forget, but are there any BB replicas, and if not, will you include it in the next SRAI, along with KOB, Robotica, and RoboGames replica. Also, it will be nice if every update to the SRAI only include the added or fixed content rather than the full pack, and to include the second download for the original pack that users can add on with updates

So I've been out of the loop for a while. What are ya'll using to host these live matches?
it's a program called parsec. it's basically a screen sharing software that people can use to connect to a host. very minimal lag, most people said they could barely notice they weren't playing on their own pc

i used a laptop made around 5 years ago with nothing changed in it and built in graphics card and played on it perfectly fine with no lag so most machines should be able to play on it and i expect half the machines in GTM can probably host on it so its worth looking at and can easily enough make it a weekly or even every 2 week thing for someone to host if enough are willing to try
what he said. almost no one had any major problems when playing in the centauris, and i know that several people's pcs aren't that good by any stretch. hosting may be a different story but I have a solid middle of the road pc with middle of the road upload speed and it worked without any problems really. people just need to give it a shot. don't really know why people are so terrified of getting out of their comfort zone when it's basically a straight upgrade
I think for the PC part, it's either they don't want to spend money maybe, or for younger users, not allowed to buy a new one as long as the old one is still useable. Also, i do wish there are more DSL online tourneys, particularly IRL. In addition, I do want to do PvP, because it's fun, but unfortunately can't, because I live in SE Asia, where there are only three other active users (Wen, Neon, moz) and they seem to don't know how to Parsec, or don't have enough Internet speed for it

Can First Blood be against Roality S. I was always curious whether I would have gone the distance if I beat Primodious.
Talking about that, how about Breaking Hammers vs Leviathan. Also wondered if I could make it to the Grand Final if Unintentional Tombklone didn't beat me

Rename to "Survival of the Fittest" and sure
Funny thing is that I have a tournament idea with that name, and bots will have to be like beasts. Also, there will be no time limit in the battle.
Edit: Good tournament idea too for Bild's tourney. And you should PM one of the tourney mods now, Bild.

Not really a suggestion for grudge match, but how about two heat finalists rumbles. Three heat finalists will fight in one rumble, for a total of two rumble. My ideas are:

And also, seed rumbles, for seeded bots who fell. The battles will be:

Haven't made a new IRL bot yet, and while I want to show Stab Runner here now, I don't have the internal pic yet. So here is one DSL-S (I don't have the most recent internal pic of my challenge belt DSL-S LW too), Savage Discs

I tries to distinguish it from battlebots with the whole last chance tourney thing. Also if I cant get 55 entries I will make entries 3 per person.
See that would be fine and dandy if Battlebots didn't have a Last Chance RUMBLE. I thought this was just a stand in because RA2 doesn't allow more than 5 bots.

Thats a fair point, but overall I don't really see a problem with copying Battlebots considering its the most popular robot fighting show in the world and the format is amazing. Maybe next tournament I do, i may change the format around a little bit.

Nobody really seems to have a problem with it, and ive tested the format by making a practise tournament before so I think it'll be fine. As for all of the things you said in your edit, can you send me a pm for the links to the two mods you mentioned and ill include them in the sign ups. As for chatbot 2 components, i will allow both flat motors, overkill motor and the razor claw motor. All of this will be added in the signups.
Well, you can find those components I mentioned on the custom components section of the download page. Also, i forget to mention, but also how about recolored slipperbottom wheels, Geese's NPC fic, improved battery AP, Mr AS rebalance pack, and component reskinning

I think ill keep it at the disc covers and the recoloured frenzy hammers, don't really see need for any of the others. However if anybody makes a bot with one of these (par from component reskins, that would be way too hard to keep up with the whole 80kg thing). Ill be happy to download one of them. Besides, im using DSL 2.3 which already has a bunch of these mods in them.
For component reskins, you just copy paste the component files for them in the appropriate places. Basically, the same way you install new components that you downloaded

My dude, you're setting yourself up for a massive fail here. Trust me, put this on ice for a short while and host a tournament with max. 8 entries first. You want to make this awesome idea reality but you have no idea how much time/effort it will take. There's a reason that it used to be a rule that your first tournament had to be limited to 8 entries.
To be honest, while this is a good idea, I have a feeling that there is the max 16 entry rule for first time hosts. In fact, one of the reasons why I hosted Robot Emperor with 16 entries, aside from practicing on hosting and tourney, is that it's because in the rules

Edit: Also, will you add Badnik's recolor pack, like the recolored Frenzy Hammers and Robot X casters.
And also, the disc covers. And oh, how about cheatbot2 components? Will you adopt a stance like me and Gulden and allow them all except for overly abusive ones, or be like a lot of tourney hosts and only allow specific ones, like the flatmotor and overkill servo
And finally, do you want to add a rule about walkers, shufflers, clusterbots/minibots, or drones? And also, if people should AI servobots and walkers themselves if they want to enter it

If I did a DSL-S tournament, what basic restrictions could make an interesting impact? Same question for IF
Maybe make people do hybrids, and then have the weapon types for the hybrid randomly chosen to builders if they post that they want to join in the tourney thread

I want to get back into doing tournaments but I don't really know what people are into, atm. I have some ideas for non-IRL tournaments but I want to know what non-IRL metagame, if any, the majority of the community like.

The main idea(s) that I want to do would be based on how Pokemon changes up their rules every year to make the same game very different every format. For example, I'd quite like to do a stock tournament with Z-Teks banned, or possibly limited to regular power, or limited to one or two. Or, a stock tournament done in the original base game (no AI components or whatever 1.4 changes.) There are so many simple and basic ideas that can force people to design and think in different ways. Constraint really does make creativity flourish. Would peeps be interested in this sort of concept for a tournament?

If it turns out people only have a boner for IRL, I don't think I'll be doing more tournaments.
I prefer IRL, but I also like to join tourneys and see my bot fight, so I will join any tourneys even if it's not IRL. Though I prefer DSL-S than Stock for non IRL tourney
